If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated... Who do you go to for help with relocating? My husband got reassigned to Guam and I seem to be having problems getting a job. I have a great babysitter for my son, but I don't want to use them unless I have an actual job to go to. The situation is this, I had a great job in Hawaii and the company was supposed to just transfer me, but on Guam the company is actually privately owned. In other words the one on Guam is not an affiliate of the corporate one and merely pays a percentage just to use the company's brand name. Anyway, other jobs on Guam want more experience but you can't get more experience because there are no entry level jobs available for anything. I really don't want to bus tables or work at a fast food joint (not that there's anything wrong with it). I've been unemployed for 8 months and I've been trying. But it really is rough out here. Anyone know anywhere else to go or is there a place where spouses can go for help?

Honestly, take the job you "don't want". If you can't afford to be picky, don't be.

Guam really is a small island, and it can be pretty tough looking for a job.

Especially since the economy there is also taking a hit.

Try not to be picky about what job you'd like to apply for.

I've heard that it's bad there, employees who are full time employees at th hotels are cut down to 3-4 days a week. If the hotels are having a hard time, the whole economy is probably suffering along side too. Since the majority of the economy is based on Tourism.

its funny...I did 4 years of college and 3 and a half active duty air force... You would think I could handle whatever economy we're thrown in. Either over qualified or not enough experience. I'm not picky, its just that the jobs I want and can get require a year or more of training. ITs like by the time I'm done with it, its time to leave... It really is rough. Thanks for all the responses.
