Is anyone familiar with the requirements for working from home in Italy, specifically NAS Sigonella? Have any experiences you'd like to share? My hubby and I are going to be shopping for new orders this year and I wanted to get a leg up on what I would need should we get stationed there...Thanks for the info!
What type of work are you talking about? Home day care, virtual assistant for someone in the US, what?

Not to say that it doesn't happen anyway, but the visa and residency permit that you get under the SOFA because of your spouse's military orders don't permit you to work from home.
the rules and regs governing it are much stricter in OCONUS Housing as well. you may be able to be a home show consultant for those catalog business but there are VERY strict guidelines about using your home as a business center as well as use of the USPS on base. But as for operating a real telecommuting type job.. it is just about impossible.
When we lived overseas at a NAS, the legal office had the regs for home businesses and you had to register with them. Have you tried contacting the legal office there or seeing if they have a website with forms, regs, etc...
I think it is pretty universal that you can't use your gov't housing for inventory, nor can you use the exchange or commissary to purchase supplies (with possibly the exception of home day care providers). Other than that, I am not sure what the regs are.
