Nobody is really going to be able to answer this correctly for you in less than 100 pages. the time you are out to sea all depends on what size cutter your on... 87's are out for only 3 days or so and pull back into home port where as 378's are out for 2 weeks at a time before they pull into a port call and usually u/w for about 60-70 days. as for phone use, no phones are allowed u/w due to OPSEC unless on a black hull, most of the time your allowed to use your phone after the workday at the CO's discression. Whats the ave. day like? it is different for every unit, there is no easy answer for that. you stand watch, eat, sleep, run drills, fix broken ****, watch tv, do LE cases, workout, drink lots of coffee.
