Hello DCs,

I am a college student looking to join the CGR during my years in school. I live in Michigan, and the recruiter said there are a good number of reserve BM/MK billets available. My question is this: have any of you had any experiences with reservist DCs and the opportunities for them? I get the impression that DCs are a mostly underway rate, and hence it makes me wonder if there are many reserve DC opportunities out there. Do any of you know anything about that? Supposedly there are a lot more MK billets in Michigan for reservists, but from reading all of your inputs about the DC rating and what they do, I'd much rather be a DC. Aside from that, I think DC fits me pretty good because I love fixing things and using my hands to git'r done.

Also, have any of you served in Michigan? If so, what did you do, where were you and how did it compare to other duty locations?

Thanks so much. I appreciate all your valuable information and experience.
