So where is everyone going this season. I'm going to NESU Alameda, not that I want to leave the East Coast but nothing was open between Maine and Florida.

The CG is a big merry go round. I lost out on all three of my east coast picks last year, my first being to you and I ended up in San Fran. Now you are going to Alameda. When did NESU get billeted for a DCC?

Even though I'm 2 below the current revised cut I am going to MSRT as a DCC on a CBRNE team. I received orders way back on 4 November. So why are the "POWERS THAT BE" so tight lipped about how many DCC's are estimated to be made? I know it is based on the needs of the service, but they knew that they needed at least 6 back in Nov.

Joe, the billet is actually for the stand up crew for the winslow, I think it will get underway in 2012 ish. So how is the west coast? I'm not sure if I am bringing the family yet or doing the GEO thing.

The west coast is not Maine that's for sure. Traffic and lots of a$$holes on the way to work. The weather is incredible though. I'm thankful to not be shoveling my driveway right now. They lowered the BAH rate by about $200/month for 2009 so it's safe to say unless you have a spouse that makes good money everyone with children will be in gov housing . BAH out here is only $100 more than I was getting in Kittery/Portsmouth. Plain rediculous. At least you got Alameda. I got screwed with Sector San Fran and have to cross the Bay Bridge every morning. That alone should give us the right to have higher BAH than Alameda. All in all I'm not miserable and I really like my job at Sector but I do feel that my priority three coming from a cutter was a waste. I could have gotten this job with a priortiy five. Enough of my rambling. I know we only know each other through the DC world but if you need anything shoot me an email and I will do what I can. Bring the wife and kids. Life is too short to be a GEO.

I have no idea why my last post came up with my old screen name. Kind of weird.

Thanks for the info Joe, the only reason I'm considering doing the GEO is I am going to be looking for a mutual, not that I think there is a line forming up to come to Alemeda. And honestly I think I'm ready to retire at 20, so I think I'll be over there for 2 1/2 years max.

I just spoke with my new boss out there, I guess the Winslow Delta crew got broke up and the NESU job is new, so it is basicly a Division Chief job for the DCs working on the 378s and the homeland security cutter that is there. So basicly a MAT job. Sounds fun, so if I can rent out the house I guess I'll take the family and enjoy the adventure of the west coast. All I have to do is hope my wife finds a good job.

Joe,
I'm in Sanfransico the week of St. Pattricks day, so when I get on a work station 3 I'll get your work number. So far we see that the housing is very steep out here, so here is crossing the fingers that the Mrs gets a great job. The housing at the army base actually looked pretty good, so I'm hoping to get in on that, but I still need to rent out my house in Southern NH.
