I'm having a really rough time deciding right now whether to commit to ROTC because my career goal is to be with a govt agency. I've heard that officers don't do too much hands on with intel. There's also the issue of the cut-off ages for ABCs weighing on my decision. I'll just list my questions which will hopefully get me the most direct answers.

I'm a double-major in Int'l Politics & Russian, minor in Arabic - would this increase my chances for ABCs straight out of college if I did not go military?

Is it true that military officers do not have hands-on tasks in intel (for the most part)?

What would be the benefits/drawbacks if I went military?

I'm leaning towards Army but it's notorious for not putting people where they want to be - just general comments on this please, more so from an officer's perspective.

Just like the previous question, what about Air Force and Navy?

Thanks for your input, it's tough because I'm an out-of-state student and ROTC will pay for school & it's hypothetically a good govt intel route...until you find out all the specifics.
