According to GOCOASTGUARD.COM - Following are the basic requirements for becoming a member of the Coast Guard:
- You must be a US citizen or a Resident Alien.
- Be between the ages of 17-27 (up to age 32 if attending an "A" school) for Active Duty. (If you are 17, you'll need parental consent.)
Check w/Chief Kalbach, he may be able to tell you if a waiver is possible. Good luck shipmate! Cool

Dan is in the Reserve now.

If you are still an E-3 you need to get to E-4. Then there's going to have to be a need for you job on the active duty side.
Once you make E-4 you can start looking for EAD contracts, ADSW contracts, or Title 10 opportunities. You will need to use your chain of command and go through your local FOT.

Full integration through a recruiter can be difficult, I can't bring any BM3's in right now, too many on active duty.

Make E-4 and then start exploring you options, I don't know what you plan on doing(as far as a CG job) so I can't give you any better info. CPO Kalbach
