Hi there, just wondering about a few things. Do recruits (reserve) go directly to A school after boot camp or do they start their drills and then wait for a space to open? My son is in the early stages of joining, he has taken his ASVAB and will have his physical on Monday so he is just getting the ball rolling. His recruiter did mention that he would probably be able to ship to boot camp in Feb. I was just wondering if he would come home after BC and then head straight to A school. He will most likely be going in as a BM or she did mention PS a couple of months ago but I know that position has been switched to ME. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Depending on the slots available for the school needed, it is entirely possible that the member will return and drill at the unit until A school. It happens on the AD side as well.
The Recruiter will be able to tell you. |

It depends on the reserve program he enlists under. He needs to ask his recruiter.

He should sign a paper at the recruiters saying when he is going to A school. After boot camp he will recieve orders to go to A school at that date.
