As I understand it, the new GI Bill does not allow current IRR members to transfer educational benefits to dependents -- even with 20 years of reserve retirement eligibility and post 9/11 qualifying service.

If an IRR member goes back on active duty for 30+ days would that allow him or her to transfer benefits?

Thanks Commander,

I had searched the site earlier without a complete answer, but just submitted the same question there too. That is: what does an IRR member need to do -- if anything -- to get benefits, e.g., go back on active duty for 30 days?
