Hello I am in the reserves and am assesing my financial situation incase of an activation. My Job will pay me leave for 15 days an pay the difference for another 22 after that my pay is literally cut in half, I know I should make rate but it would only mean 500/mo. I would go from 4500/mo + OT to 2300/mo. Are there any resources out there to help me to offset the difference. I am federaly employed and getting out is not an option I would easily consider. Thank you for your time
Just remember under the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act (SSRA), your bills, while activated, reduce to 6% interest. And while on active duty, you'll collect BAS and BAH.
Hope this helps.

I have been activated before so I am aware of those benefits. It's just my career really accelerated since my last activation unfortunaley it wasn't my CG career. Thank you
Save money now. Learn to live within your means on a reduced salary. Reduce your credit. Otherwise, its tough luck. That's the decision made when one raises their right hand.
You should look into the Reserve Income Replacement Program. It offers relief for members who will suffer large financial losses due to a mobilization. Information on the program can be found on the CG Reserve Homepage.
I believe their is some programs, that help offset financial problems cause of deployment, as well as limits to what a creditor can do to you while you are deployed..
Not sure who to ask, but best to ask your personnel/human resources people for help. As well as local veterans group, but ... Start with the official channels.
106, I am in a similar situation to you: I am a civilian SAR Controller for the CG and a member of PSU 301. Biggest difference is that I'm an E-8, so the active duty pay is not bad. Check to see if you can take vacation days while activated, it helps to get the two checks. Also, use vacation this year instead of your military leave; I think you can carry the military leave over. You should not be in too bad a shape, depending on where you deploy. If overseas, then you will get a few more specialty pays and it will be tax free. I am in the process of checking on some of the issues myself so let's stay in touch. Contact me through military.com we can discuss.
