This the bombed out church in Antenna Valley. Nearby was an earthen-walled French fort with hot water from a hot springs piped in:

Yeah, I've noticed that too. :-)

I tell the unwary that it's a head I carried around with me 'till it rotted. You'd be surprised how many believe it! Big Grin

The guy laying down there on the cot in Med Bn wounded is me. That was my second PHM (My Gold Star). The photo of the Marines going through dead and wounded Marines packs for Ammo was taken during Operation Texas, my first PHM. I was one of those in the photo just before the Medevc arrived, I can't really ID me, but that is my rifle in the forefront. I laid it there as I was helping a Corpsmen with another Marine's wounds. Please note our Corpsmen. We were under fire at the time, and they had taken off their Flak Jackets to cover the wounded as they were working on them to protect them from any more harm. You had to love those guys! The other photos are from different members of Kilo 3/7 in 1965 and the beginning of 1966.

Awsome or All some. Makes an AF tour like a walk in the park for a groundpounder behind the fence, under a roof, and 3 squares a day. Every day, I thanked my older brother for "suggesting" I not join his Army Guard Unit (1954). The Air Guard led to an Air base, 14 years later, in RVN. I salute the real grunts and hope they pardon my cakewalk begun age 17 and ended age 50 mostly comfortable, though occasionally wet and cold as SP.
