Over the years, I've had a couple of opportunities to go back to Vietnam, but have not. Not really sure what "going back" even means --
Have the opportunity again. If you've gone back, would you recommend it? Anyone wish they hadn't? |

I don't know Gunner! Going back to Vietnam?
Please tell me why it is that I would want to put one Dollar into the pockets of the Commie Government that can not even admit that they tortured our POWs, or maybe it is the fact that they broke their word to our government in the Paris Peace Accords, or even the fact that they still have an unelected government after all of these years. Most of all, because I hate Commie Bastards with all my heart! |

i've said this before, i mean no disrespect to any vet who feels they have to go back there for whatever reason...
it'd be a cold day in hell before i would spend a dime to go back to that sheit hole country.... |

A lot of guys feel that way. Many others, including a number of former POWs, have made the trip over here, and were glad they did. Doug Reese |

Doug.. i know, i've watched a number of documentaries that have followed vets that have gone back, most of what i have seen, is that it tears them up to go back to a place where they lost their buddies. does it help them afterwards?, only they can answer that....

I think it does help -- at least that's the feeling I get from the vets I know who go back. (I deal with this all the time, by the way). But I smile when I see those documentaries, as the typical vet isn't (ever) crying, tearing up, etc, when he's over here. Nothing wrong with that, by the way, but it just isn't typical. It does make for a good show, though Doug Reese |

I can't see any reason to go back. There are others who have, but in my humble opinion, enough is enough. If you Google map some of the place we have all been, it looks all too familiar.

Greetings from Saigon Sure, some don't want to go back. Others, like a former POW who is Hanoi right now with his three daughters, or those who I am going with to Lai Khe this morning, do. Doug Reese |
