I just graduated 19D OSUT and my first duty station is Ft.bliss was wondering what the base was like and what the housing was like, i couldn't find any info about single lower enlisted housing on the web. was also wondering what the training down there will be like. any info at all would be appreciated.

well if your gonna be part of the 4th BCT 1AD then your gonna live at biggs army airfield, which is across the street from Ft. Bliss. I think El paso is nothing special but its not that bad either... however other soldiers i know love it here (hope you like mexican girls, cause theres plenty around here) as far as housing goes.. youll live in a tralier with 2 other poeple. You each will have your own room, and share a kitchen/bathrooom(its pretty nice actully)
Hmm trailers, sounds interesting i guess. Another question i dont have a car or even a valid drivers license right now would it be possible to get around bliss and el paso with just a bike or should i try and get a license soon?

thanks for the reply.
your def gonna need a car. it cost about 15dollars just to get off post in a cab since biggs feild is out in in the desert(hard to explain but youll understand when u get here) a buddy of mine dosnt have a vaid license either, and he is really hurting because of it.. myself and my fellow medics usally give him rides but youll still prob want to get a car so u dont have to depend on other people and you have more freedom to do what u want.
