Can anybody tell me how much time I would spend away from home if I was a Cavalry Scout? I don't mean deployments I'm talking about when you're not deployed. And how is AIT as far as the training? Any info will help. Thanks all.
um i think i know that its goin to be cold considering its kentucky, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that out, and if i was so worried about the weather then i wouldnt not join the military, if anyone is worried about the weather then they shouldnt even join
I'm due to ship out the 3rd as well. I'm lookin' forward to the frigid cold. At least we'll be too numb to feel pain after a while..right? *nervous look*

Hey guys, don't sweat it. The DS's will keep you warm. I spent the winter of 85 in the field at Knox. 20 some odd below zero for two weeks. Stayed in a tent on a slab of cold concrete. Old coal stove was humping, but would have had to gotten in it to stayed warm. Only part of me that ever warmed up was my feet. I stood on the rear grill and stuck them in the exhaust of the Sheriden. I went to OSUT during the spring and most the summer. Was a hot one too.
