I'm showing 91A as a Medic. You sure that's what you enlisted for?
63A and 63E are the Tank Mechanic numbers. You may have been had! http://usmilitary.about.com/od.../blnocitizenship.htm Wandering and Wondering |

They just shuffled all the MOSs- again.
Medics are now 68 series. Mechanics 91 series. In some cases, they moved the enlisted numbers to align with the officers, in other cases, they changed the officers to match the enlisted. Don't ask me why they made the changes. |

Geeeze - I guess they want to keep the Russians and Chinese guessing!!
When I switched over to Air Force, they kept doing that - I never was really certain what my "AFSC" was, so I'd always answer "11Delta40" if somebody asked, and I'd always get these really strange looks... Didn't bother me at all - - Wandering and Wondering |

The 91 Medical series was transitioned to 68 back in 2007. The 63 Mechanical Series is just now being transitioned over to 91. To the OP - just search the 'Net for 63A - you should find a lot more info that way. |

And now we know how all those colonels in the pentagon get promoted to general - They just come up with a new numbering system every two or three years! Wandering and Wondering |

Yeah, I found more stuff under 63A. Good lookin out. So if there isn't any tanks being used oversees, does that mean I'll be guarding convoy's or something?

Why would you think that tanks aren't used overseas?
There's certainly no reason to use them stateside on the civilian population |

Yeah I watched that video. I've been in the auto repair buisness for years. I'm not to worried about the actual job. I met a tanker and he was telling me,"we only use tanks for the initial push, then you just pull guard or do patrols on foot." Who really knows. Seems like anyone you try to ask for info either loves it or hates it. |

The tendency is that Uncle Sugar put people where he needs them. I had a mechanic as a driver and a company clerk as a loader. If you're a mechanic and they send you where there are trucks and light-tracked vehicles, then you'll OJT into working on those vehicles. If they send you where there are no vehicles at all, then your primary MOS is always 11Bush! Wandering and Wondering |

I leave for Ft. Jackson Nov17 then to Ft. knox for ait. I only got 5 weeks to prepare, Im tryin to get a crash course on the Army Fun. I've been wanting to do this for years though, but I just cant watch the news anymore. It's definetly a DEmotivator.
