Hows it goin everyone? My name is A1C Logan McKinney. I'm with the USAF thinking about blue to green. I kind of jumped into my decision about the Air Force. I'm a Security Forces member. I like the Law Enforcement side of the house...sometimes. I strongly dislike the security side of the house, a trained monkey could do the security job. I'm not going to lie I kind of fell for the "cool" pictures the recruiter showed me and all that stuff. I was recently TDY to Anderson AFB, to a class called Commando Warrior. Its only for Air Force cops who are fixing to head down range. MOUNT OPs, Mounted and dismounted patrols, IED hunting, I guess I could have said Combat training to sum it all up, and I loved every minute of it. It was a pretty big class, my squad got top squad out of the class, and with over 100 Airmen e-1 to e-4 I got top Airmen of the class. I guess I found my thing. I found my self doing things without thinking, and just making decisions, and more so just following orders of my Fire Team leader.

sorry I could go on and on.

What I really what to know is.....
What does a 19d Cav Scout do on a day to day basis while in Garrison. I have found pretty much what they do while deployed, but not much while at home. Are they in the field training doing FTX's or MOUNT training? I've look at cavschoutshooah.com and a few others, and I also searched this with the find feature, and couldn't find a damn thing. And please do not pull what the Recruiter did and just show me the "cool" stuff I want to know the ends and outs. The good, the bad, and the ugly, so I can make an educated decision.

Again thank you for your time and your service.

I did a lot of MOUNT training with women in the Army. Razz
But as a 19D, you will likely do MOUT training.

When I was in, we trained and pulled weapons/vehicle maintenance most the time when in garrison. Field Training Exercises, war games, and deployments to the border (often 2 months at a time) were welcomed chances to get out of the boring routine. At least today some of the Reconners are getting a chance to do something for real - -
