what type of security clearance is required to go into the army fo M1A1 crewman.
This is what I am hoping to join for but I got a few things on my record and have to get a morale waiver which is at usarec now
My recuiter told me in a couple of day's I should be able to go up and do my contract talk to the counselor and do the sf86 form
I am just hoping that 19k is there for me when I go this is about the only thing I want to do.

ALmost everything now a days in the Army requires a secret security clearence. However 19K may be one of those that doesn't require one unitl you reach a certain rank. Either way a secret is not that big of a deal. As long as your record doesn't have anything on it involving moral turpitude (i.e. theft, fraud, or things of that nature) you should be fine. The only aspect they look at for your clearence is if you can be entrusted with trusted info, they don't look at the other angles of things as do many LE agencies.

also keep in mind that bankruptcy and reposessions will also deny a security clearance. if they have not been discharged.

Thanks for the reply.I do have a bankruptcy but nothing was repo. from it and it is discharged I do have a petty theft charge from when I was 17,I am now 32 almost 33 and had to get a morale waiver for this.
Hopefully this won't prevent me from becoming a tanker.
I should add that I had to get a morale waiver for a few other things also not just petty theft.I should be hearing from my recuiter this week about going up to sign my contract.

No gang banger or druggie I had a hit and run when I was 18 and was driving with no insurance had to go to court pay a fine and lost my license for awhile. The petty theft I was 17 and was a lookout for my friend while he got into cars and took stuff,ciggerrettes change flashlight and a radar detector even though I didn't get into any vehicles I was still guilty very embarrassing but I am 32 now and nothing on my record since then.
