It is unfortunate that our elected officials want to buy foreign made equipment. Springfield Armory produces as good or better weapons. The old M-14 is one of the best all weather weapons ever made. Like the old US .45, still more dependable and more knock down power than the NATO 9mm. J.Baudier

The U.S. Government mandates that all weapons bound for military service must be made in the U.S. That is why Beretta, FN, and SIG have factories here.

Sprigfields have gone down in quality over the years, and their best selling pistols (xD) are imported, springfield just slaps thier name on them. Fulton Armory makes a much better M14/21 style weapon.
The M14 had it's place, still does, but not as a main battle rifle anymore.
Yes we all know by now the .45 is stonger than a 9mm, but so is a 50 de, and so on. If you can kill a pig, deer, cow with a .22, then a 9mm will do it too. Dead is dead. Myself I perfer 18 round mags over a single stack of .45 anyday. There is a ton of high quality ammo for 9mm's. The problem is all this .45 vs 9mm reviews are usually done with sub par mil spec ammo.
