My father Michael Jimenez aka "PACO" was in K Troop 3/2 ACR at the Pond Barracks in Amberg, Germany from 1971 to 1974. If you are from or know anyone that attended here please let me know, my father lost contact with a few of his friends. Thank you very much
I was in M-Company, 3/2 ACR from 1972-1974. I didn't know anyone in K-Troop but you might go to the Dragoon website and find some old buddies. http://dragoonbase.ning.com/
I WAS THERE IN 1971 TO 1974 DAVE SNOWMOBILKING@MSN.COM
Are you the Jimenezs that lived in Blythe. Did your dad leave the army for someone being sick or passing away. I was the clerk. was your dad on the tanks? my name is specialist Pena
I was in K Troop from 1972 to 1974 Your dad was a Sp4 in the 1972 Troop Photo I knew of PACO but I was in the 1st Platoon. I am Joseph E. Osborne I was a PFC then.
My name is Chris Arnold. I was a Sgt./E5 at K Troop 3/2nd ACR at Amber thru August 1974. I was the Troop clerk under 1st Sgt.Rocco, and then at the end 1st Sgt. Allen. The Troop Commander was Cpt. Baird. I knew Paco, as well as several other fiends such as Dave Riel & Jim Busch. I still have the black beret that we wore due to our border patrol duty. Anyone remember me? Toujours Pret!
Did anyone know my father Ruben pena he was a clerk. company k 1973-1976
I knew your father Ruben quite well. In late 1972, I was working with another man named Jose Garnica in the K Troop 3/2 ACR Orderly Room at Pond Barracks, Amberg West Germany. When Jose Garnica rotated (CONUS) back to the United States at the end of his tour, Ruben Pena was selected by then 1st Sgt. Allen to replace him in the orderly room as a troop clerk. So then Ruben Pena & I became co-workers & friends while working in that very small work area office. When I rotated (CONUS) back to the United States as a Sgt/E-5 at the end of my tour in August 1974, Ruben was still the troop clerk. I made many friends while serving in K Troop. Ruben was one, as well as Sgt. Denny Miner, Sgt. Hogue, Spec4 James Busch, and PFC Dave Riel. I have not seen or heard from any of them except for James Busch who unexpectedly looked me up in my home town of Fresno, California around 1982. We drank a lot of beers to our combined memories of K Troop. So what is Ruben up to these days? See what he says after you tell him of this E-Mail. Then have him E-Mail me at back at email@example.com. I now live in Bakersfield, California.
Chris did you get my email?
The last E-Mail I got from you was dated in August. I replied to the E-Mail address that you sent it from. I'll try again and re-send my response.
I am so glad to hear that you got out of the Army after serving three years. It
wasn't such a great time to be in the Military considering Viet Nam was just
ending. I too was able to come home to California and get the rest of my life
started. I got a "Dear John Letter" from my girlfriend of 5 years the month
before I left there. So when I arrived home I was finally able to put that
behind me with the help of the friends that I left behind when I enlisted.
You accurately described our experiences in the Orderly Room as a dream job. We
got over so much due to our protected status by working for the 1st Sgt. I
always wondered what happened after I left. When Jim Busch looked me up years
ago (He was in 3rd Platoon.) we talked a lot about the "Good Old Days," but he
never really was able to tell me much how things went with 1st Sgt. Allen after
I left. All I can tell you was after they promoted me to E-5, that they were
pressuring me to re-enlist for 6 more years right up until the week I left. Boy,
did I fool them! I was never cut out to be a lifer. I too went to Fresno City
Community College when I got back via The G.I. Bill. I eventually met my wife
Marion and her four children from her previous marriage and got married. I went
to the Police Academy in Fresno, and was hired by the Kern County Sheriffs
Department in Bakersfield as a Deputy I. I received an injury retirement chasing
bad guys in 1992. One of my daughters Tricia, and my son Andrew are now living
in San Diego. We're going to visit them in October for 5 days, as I now have
grand children also.
I now work for Lowe's Home Improvement as a Door & Windows Design Specialist in
the Millwork Department here in Bakersfield. Sounds like we are kind of in the
same area of business.......construction & remodeling. I would like to keep in
contact with you from now on as time permits. I'm enclosing my phone number and
address to make that possible. I look forward to talking with you, and
eventually seeing if you look as old as I do.I always thought you were one of
the best that I met while I was serving in K Troop. Thank-you for helping me
leave there on time by assuming all of my responsibilities.
Your friend always,

Hello, my name is Jose (Joe) Garnica, and I was with K Troop, 3/2d ACR in Pond Barracks from 1972 - 1974 and I remember Paco. Him, me and a guy named Riley (I think), helped baptize a child for another one of our buddies. I worked for 1st Rocco, then for 1st Allen. I also remember Chris Arnold, man, all these years and we are only a few hundred miles away, I live in Chula Vista, San Diego County. Please, anyone else that remembers me, send me an email at email@example.com. I would love to hear from Paco, Chris and anyone else. Also, Michael Jr., thank you for continuing to follow in your dad's footsteps and serving our country.
