Hello, I joined the Free and accepted masons at a young age 18 to be precise i became a master mason in due time i learned a lot during the time i was a Freemason but i have since then became a completely different person and feel that any continued time as a mason would be detrimental to my well being and to my spiritual wellbeing. I am 19 years old now about to turn twenty and i have completely forsaken my oath as a master mason and i instead of turning in a due notice as to why i was no longer a mason i just left and never came back or paid my dues. The teachings of freemasonry are against everything that i stand for and am going to do with my future. and i have to stand up against them and tell everything within and without of the meetings. I am not here to apoogize but i am here to stand for what i believe in.

What jurisdiction made you a Mason at 18 years of age?

If you are convinced that Masonry is not right for you, then you are free to leave. Write a letter to your lodge secretary, and tell him that you no longer wish to be Mason. You are free to resign at any time, for any reason, or for no reason. I wish you well.

(Many jurisdictions permit 18 year olds to petition Freemasonry: example-California. Kentucky is considering lowering the age limit to 18, the legislation will be introduced and voted on at the October Grand Lodge session)

Dear Mr. McSparrin:

Regretable bitterness that goes against the forum rules and decency of humankind. However since you have elected not to engage in further discussion, I will respectfully close the topic thread.

I will say this, if Freemasonry goes against everything you believe in at age 20, then you do not have much to draw your conclusions on on. Freemasonry is nothing more than a fraternal organization that takes good men and makes them better. We cannot take a bad man and make him good, nor do we hold a gun to anyone's head and make them do what that don't want to do. Somewhere in your life you became bitter and that bitterness is quite evident from the tone of your post. I hope that you are not in the military because this kind of attitude does not go far in the military I once knew. When it did surface, it was nothing a good ole unit blanket party could not take care of either.

Anyway, good bye Mr. McSaprrin, don't let the door of the lodge hit you on the way out. Also, consider yourself pink slipped for your actions on this forum.

Fraternally and regrettably yours,
/s/
Terry, PM
