Well i've started the process of joining, i had 3 Master Mason's come out and visit me at my home last night, and it was a great experiance. I was really suprised on how diverse everyone was, one guy was even from Libya. It was very awesome. One has only been a Mason for 5 years and is a 32nd degree already,

Thanks to Cemab4y for all of the help, and getting me in contact with the lodge. I found out the guy you got me in contact with is a 33rd degree and actually going to be in charge of the Grand Lodge of PA in a few years lol.

Well they said in Feb. they will vote on it and i will be contacted, so now just gotta play the waiting game.
Again thank you everyone for all of the help it was very much Appreciated.

John (my old name was Chitown86)

How very wonderful! I am more than glad to have been of some small help. You will enjoy the journey very much, you have taken the first step, and I am certain you will cherish the experiences ahead of you.

I have been privileged to have assisted several other individuals on this board, in the application process. All of them are either Masons, or well on the way to the destination.

I am a 32d degree mason. I am also a Shriner (inactive). There are over 100 appendant and concordant bodies of freemasonry. Once you are a Master Mason, you may choose to join one or more of these organizations. Think of it as a "cafeteria of organizations", and your Master Mason degree is the "key".

Please keep us informed of your progress on this board. I was made a Master Mason on Sept 28,1982; my father officiated at the ceremony. I cherish this craft, and I am certain you will too.

Congrats Remy,
I'm new to the craft myself, and will be going for my fellow craft on Saturday.

When I petitioned my lodge, they didn't send anyone to my house. They just asked me to come to the kitchen of the lodge and asked a few questions. Mainly, why did I want to be a Mason? They told me about the 3 degrees, and a little about it. My initiation was about 3 weeks later. This is one of the best things I've ever done.

How very nice to hear of this! I wish you every possible success! The examination procedure varies from state to state. When I petitioned freemasonry, the examination committee did not even speak with me directly. I did have to fill out a lengthy form, and explain my reasons for joining, etc.

Yeah they didn't even ask what my reasons were, they explained Freemasonry, wanted to make sure i understood that they didn't sacriface virgins and stuff lol.

Though when they asked if I had any questions and i said "No" they seemed kinda put off, but i explained that through this forum and others i knew involved already answered the questions they knew.

Also a guy asked what religion I was i stated "I would say i'm Christian" he seemed a little put off because i didn't out right say i was Christian, i further explained that as well.

All I did was fill out a form that asked my name/address/phone number, and my job description. Gave them a check and yeah that's about it lol

I am delighted to hear that your process has completed favorably. Have you completed any of the degree work?

The first knock that many lodges are receiving is a electronic knock. The internet has enabled many men to get a solid knowledge of the fraternity, that just a few years ago, was impossible.

We are delighted to answer your questions here on this board (and other boards). Of course, your knowledge will not be complete, until you complete the EA/FC/MM. Masonry is a voyage of self-improvement and discovery. Which working tools you use, is of no difference.

Welcome aboard!
