In point of fact, newly made Free Masons are charged that they assume three duties upon their admission to the fraternity. One of those duties is to God,in never mentioning His name but with that reverence due from the creature to his Creator. |

The other two are to his neighbor in acting upon the square in doing unto him and he would do unto you, and to himself in avoiding all interperance or irregularity which might impair his faculties. The EA charge might vary state by state and by jurisdiction. So Mote It Be. F&S Terry T., PM |

This question goe out to anyone that has been a member of the lodge for years. My question is, when I attended an invitation from one of the members of the lodge over in california someone offer to show me around the lodge, I then noticed the Holy Flaming Star hanging but it was inverted. why was it inverted? Esoterically speaking I am not inexperienced I Know that some of the Great Lodges Have been infiltrated by the Black Lodges and I do not mean Black in regards to any people Some of you know what I'm saying. The tenebrous one are attracted to the inverted star. The Brothers of the light are the Holy Flaming Star. Thank you and I hope someone can shed some light on the subject.
Inverential Peace! |

Mosst likely you obsevered an Order of Eastern Star, emblem. That emblem is common in California lodges. I don't know why its set up like that but you could ask that question in the eastern star topic.

Being that Our Friend Kundry is not an authority
on such matters, could the moderator or the lead moderator please answer my question. Regarding the Holy Flaming Star and Why was it inverted at the Lodge that I was invited to? I am 27 years old and I was with The Order of DeMolay in my younger years, my mentor was a 33rd Degree Mason from British Guiana, and He would always advice me to seek the truth and live by it. He never told me anything about the "secret" things of the Lodge although he might have hinted at certain things but I was too immature to comprehend them let alone understand. 33 degrees equals 33 vertebrae the coiled snake must rise and pass through all the seven churches "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD" Now is the time to Difine Ourselves we will either become eagles or reptiles angels or demons. The Holy Flaming Star is what an Angel represents, the inverted star represents the down fall of the initiate. The tenebrous are attracted to the inverted star the members of the white lodge are the Holy flaming Star. Here in the physical I would really like to become a Free-Mason like I always wanted when I was gowing up, but I must be cautious and not involve myself with those who claim to be true members of the lodge and are not. From what I know a Free-Mason represents truth, integrity, love for our neighbour, justice and all that is good. being that I am not a true member of the lodge yet I must sincerely claim ignorance and that is why I AM inquiring about such matter. I would greatly appriciate your answer and time, thank you. In word and deed A Friend in need of an answer Inverential Peace! |

First, the Eastern Star is considered a quasi Masonic organization for both good men and women. From what little I know about the Eastern Star, they use the symbol of the five-pointed star usually shown with one point down. As a result, many people who don’t understand symbols say some very ignorant things about it. One of the most ignorant is that it stands for some kind of demonm or for a goat. Now, if they want to think of a devil or a goat when they see it, that’s their business. But that’s not what the Eastern Star uses the symbol to mean. They use it as a symbol of the star which guided the Wise Men to Bethlehem. The downward pointing ray represents the light of the star coming to the earth and also the birth of Jesus when He came down to earth from heaven. Masons also use the five-pointed star as a symbol, too. For Masons, the star is a symbol of Man, with the five points representing the head, the hands, and the feet. Hope that helps, if not talk to an Eastern Star for some of us Masons are not part the the Order of the Eastern Star (OES). |

Anyone in the Woodbridge, VA. area who can help out out with this situation. Thanks John
Reply to: gigs-407525411@craigslist.org Date: 2007-08-27, 6:10PM EDT My Father-in-law was a Sea-Bee in the Navy during World War II. He was stationed in the Pacific and was on Okinawa building hospitals in preparation for the invasion of the Japanese home islands when the war ended. He passed away today and we will be having a small indoor memorial service for him this Friday at 11am in Woodbridge, VA. The location is at the comunity center where he lived, not a funeral home, so there will be no casket, etc. So far, I have contacted both of the major national veterans organizations and unfortunately neither group was able to provide a person to come out and play Taps at the end of the sevice, in recognition for his service to our country during time of war (sigh). So, I'm relying on CL to help us. If you are a bugler or trumpet player and can play Taps this Friday for us, we would greatly appreciate it. I can pay you $100 in cash at the end of the service for your time. You do not have to be a veteran or in the Military as long as you recognize and respect the nature of the service, dress accordingly, and can play Taps for us. If you are a current or former member of any Military branch, then that's all the better, but not a requirement. You would need to arrive in Woodbridge at 1030am and the service will be over by noon, with your Taps being the closing action. |

You can call me Ray, but don't call me late for dinner. I just received my 3rd degree in Japan right before I moved to Ca. I live in Imperial Beach California. I've read though most of each and every page on the greetings; I would like to ask if everyone is asked to prove who they are because the mod guy wants me to prove that I'm a Free and Accepted Mason. So my name is Ray Chaves, I just retired from the Navy (22 years). And I'm looking for a lodge in the San Diego area, I have lots to learn and check out, there are three lodges with in 15 minutes drive and over 20 lodges in 20 minutes. I created an email address here, because of temp work; it is the best way to contact me. Crossed_Dalhgrens@military.com. I have a yahoo email but I don’t check it much and basically use is at a spam catcher.

Ray, I haven't seen any one quizzed before now. But the questions being asked by Brother Terry isn't unreasonable. Especially when your name is different than your bio. That in it self sends up a red flag on this board even though it is common practice on other boards. Fraternally, John |

Brethren: This was not a "Quizzing," but an inquiry. This forum has both Masons and non-Masons and it would be nice to know how to properly identify a poster when the name given is different than the bio. I could respond to a non-Mason one way and a brother Mason another. I would just like to get the name correct. If there are several posters using the same screen name, email, etc. that would be good to know too. Thank you all for your voluntary cooperation. My .02 cents of Master's wages. I did some checking and if you are in the San Diego area, you might want to check out the Masonic Lodge named Point Loma No.620. A former Hot Topics Moderator, Bryan Pettengill, aka "FleetLiberal," identified himself as the Master of Point Loma No. 620, given him a call. Hope that helps. What do you want to see privatized, "Freedom," or the study of "History?" I give up, but welcome aboard anyway. Sincerely, /s/ Terry, PM Indiana Freemason Hot Topics Moderator |
