Brother Charles,
I'm very familiar with the Virginia one day class. And it is not a simple as it may sound. The candidate's do not walk out at the end of the day a Master Mason. Each candidate has a mentor who will instruct him to be proficient in all three degrees and will have proved himself as such before officially being awarded the title as such by the Grand Lodge.
This has helped in acquiring back Doctors and such who do not have any spare time for lengthily outdated instructions.

I am not an expert on the VA one-day classes, even though my residence is in VA. Looks like I overstated the process. I should have said that the ceremonial work is completed in one day. I am glad to hear that the individual is assigned a mentor, to go over the ceremonial work.

Missouri has had one day classes ,where over 3,000 master masons were made in one day. (not all at the same place). Their experience has been well documented in the masonic journals.

We should all remember that Masonry is a "work in progress".

Well here we go again some people are just too ignorant to understand the Masonic Order. You sir (biggartosc ) apparently have little or no education and therefor make you an ignorant person. Alone just by flying that flag. I am a master mason and proud of it some of the greatest presidents were mason.Like our first president, but ah I guess he wasn't southern enough for you. I feel sorry for you and the lack of knowledge you have.

Dear Brother Islandcop
I would not be so harsh on someone who doesn't understand our fraternity. There has been a lot of misrepresentation and untruths spread about the Freemasons for Century's. From the persecutions of our Brother Knights Templar's till today. Remember your obligation as not to quarrel with someone who does not understand our fraternity. General Albert Pike "CSA" in my opinion would be a bit strange to none craftsmen. And reading Morals and Dogmas would leave someone guessing. I found it to be very boring myself and not really worth reading. What Brother Pike wrote could be easily miss understood by outsiders. He was a brilliant man for the times like De vici for his times and some of his writing is misunderstood even today.

I love when we get to talking about the fraternity. I am the Master-Elect for Barstow-Boron Lodge #682 in California.
I just wanted to add a few words if I may.

I come from seven generations of Freemasons that I know of. I have enjoyed being part of the fraternity since 1999. My regret about not joining sooner was that I was not able to sit in Lodge with my Grandfather. One thing that I will never take for granted though is the freedoms that I enjoy in our country due to our bretheren before us sacrificing all they had to ensure that we could enjoy those freedoms. We are the revolutionaries of democracy. We have fought against tyrrany in many countries and have been victors. I weep for my fallen brethren everday. Example, all of our GERMAN bretheren who were targeted by Hilter before he even began his geonocidal attempt on the faithful Jewish of the world. He knew that he could not take the nation if he did not exterminate the Freemasons first. An estimated number of 153,000 German Masons killed. We stand for freedom of all men. I weep for our fallen Iranian brothers whose successors are in excile here in the US who had to leave Iran in 1979. I commend and applaud them for their strength and will always offer them my hand in friendship and Brotherly Love. I commend our brothers in South America who still fight for democracy and freedom from tyranny in thier countries. We must never lose sight that we are the Mother of all Fraternities and never take for granted the things we are able to accomplish in our small piece of the world. We must be patient with the profane who will not understand the mysteries until they are ready to accept their own role in society.
I could ramble on forever, but I need to go prepare for my installation. Beind in the Army and belonging to the Fraternity makes me swell with pride and I always revel in the knowledge of knowing that I have my brothers near by at every duty station that I go to. Take care and I will be back on.
Fraternally

Hello,

This is a difficult situation indeed. It looks like you already know what to do -- contact an attorney. An attorney would be best to help you and advise you in this case. The link below is the Ft. Stewart Installation Guide. Therein is the phone directory. In there, you can find the legal office phone number. Please do not delay in this matter.

http://benefits.military.com/misc/installations/Base_Content.jsp?id=1195

If you are looking for a masonic laywer, then you need to know what lodge your son belongs to first, then contact or have your son contact a lodge which is close to him. The Lodge by Fort Stewart is the HinesVille Lodge. Have your son or yourself contact them and ask if they know of any laywers that are Masons. They may not be able to help you but someone will know another who may. Good Luck

To the adminstrator of this board:

I request that you BAN "AmoVastare" from this board. His comments are vulgar, insulting, and crude, and have no place on this board.

He is obviously a rabid anti-Mason, and uses the board to insult and denigrate our gentle craft. Comments like "morons" and "retarded" serve no constructive purpose.

I am certain that you would hear no objection from the membership if you booted this individual from the board.

Masonically,

Charles E. Martin

Brother Charles,
Has the article already been Dead Lined. I must have missed it. Articles like that don't really bother me that much except I feel some pity for such uninformed. We are taught to have tolerance for such folks. Like the old saying, Sticks and Stones will break my bones but Names will never hurt me. We have withstood these individuals for many centuries as our brother Knight's Templar did many years ago. We know where we stand. They don't

Brother Robocop,
This is the only way to contact you to ask your opinion. But I know you will be on the level.
There seems to be a double standard with some moderators on the message boards. I know
there are certain rules to go by but if you disagree with the Iraqi and administration policy
you are singled out for the wall. And if you are to the right, for lack of a better word, name calling
and everything else is ok. It has been happening repeatedly time and time again. Just yesterday
with a fine young man new to the board that was not quite aware of the double standards set forth. Main thing about his suspension was that he didn't say what he was accused of. He was just replying to someone else's quote. I have also been on the receiving end of being singled out and warned because of someone else's quote.

Brother John,

On the level, I wish I could tell you that this is an isolated incident, but it's not. In recent days I've received similar messages and I'm trying to track down the source. Our volunteer moderators (from time to time) do let the stress of life get to them and it can show in their activities.

If you don't mind, please email me the details of these incidences at milforadmin@gmail.com and we can discuss it further.

That actually goes for everyone...this email address (milforadmin@gmail.com) comes directly to me. So if anything comes up, please let me know.

Fraternally,

Bro. Rob

Thank you. I do prefer to handle these things out of the open forums. I have a good group of moderators. They are top notch and I love them all. However, they are humans and stress can get to us all. I've made more than my share of mistakes in the past too... so when the stress is high, I try to keep things behind the scenes.

Gerald Rudolph Ford
Born July 14, 1913 ~ Died December 26, 2006
U.S. President from 1974 to 1977
Master Mason from 1951 until his death

Gerald R. Ford was initiated an Entered Apprentice on September 30,
1949, in Malta Lodge No. 465, Grand Rapids, Michigan. His brothers,
Thomas Gardner Ford and Richard Addison Ford, were also made Entered
Apprentices in Malta Lodge on that same day.

Brother Ford was passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on April 20,
1951 and raised to the degree of Master Mason on May 18, 1951. Both
of these degrees were conferred by Columbia Lodge No. 3 in
Washington, D.C. as a courtesy to Malta Lodge.

Brother Ford was the 14th Master Mason to serve as President of the
United States of America. He shared this distinction with George
Washington, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, James Buchanan,
Andrew Johnson, James Garfield, William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt,
William Taft, Warren Harding, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman.

On February 17, 1975, President Ford said the following about his
Masonic experience: "When I took my obligation as a Master Mason--
incidentally , with my […] younger brothers--I recalled the value my
own father attached to that order. But I had no idea that I would
ever be added to the company of the Father of our Country and 12
other members of the order who also served as Presidents of the
United States.

Masonic principles-- internal, not external--and our Order's vision
of duty to country and acceptance of God as a Supreme Being and
guiding light have sustained me during my years of Government
service. Today especially, the guidelines by which I strive to become
an upright man in Masonry give me great personal strength.

Masonic precepts can help America retain our inspiring aspirations
while adapting to a new age. It is apparent to me that the Supreme
Architect has set out the duties each of us has to perform, and I
have trusted in His will with the knowledge that my trust is well-
founded."

Scottish Rite Masons Announce Newest NASCAR Racing Team

Washington, D.C., January 3, 2007 - The Scottish Rite Racing Team will be officially announced and introduced by NASCAR, BC Motorsports, and the Frank Cicci Racing team at the Scottish Rite House of the Temple on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 11:00am. NASCAR representatives, the Racing Team, and members of the Masonic community will be available to the media. The House of the Temple is located at 1733 Sixteenth St. N.W., Washington, DC.

The Scottish Rite race car will be driven by veteran driver Brian Conz, who himself is a 32° Scottish Rite Mason. Brother Brian, who began his career in 1988 in the Street Stock Division, later moved to the ARCA/REMAX Series in 1996. Brian has 15 wins, 79 top fives, and 108 top ten finishes to his credit and will be in the running for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors.

He will be piloting the Scottish Rite #34 Chevrolet for Frank Cicci Racing based in Mooresville, N.C. The team will be celebrating its 20th season in the Busch Series in 2007 and is the oldest running team in series history. With 743 starts and 19 victories, the team has fielded drivers such as current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion Todd Bodine, Randy LaJoie, and David Green, along with a long line of NASCAR’s favorite driver’s. Owner Frank Cicci states, “We are so excited and privileged to have such an honorable organization associated with us, we look forward to a long-lasting relationship with the Scottish Rite and Brian.”

The Scottish Rite is part of the “Family of Freemasonry,” the oldest and largest fraternal organization in America, dating back to 1730. Many famous American men have been Masons, including fourteen presidents from George Washington to Gerald Ford. Bro. Ford was a Michigan Mason as is Bro. Conz, and both received the 32° in the Scottish Rite, with Bro. Ford being honored with the 33°. About one-third of the 1.5 million American Freemasons have gone on to become 32° Scottish Rite Masons, and about 1% of those receive the 33° in recognition of their service to humanity, their communities, or to Freemasonry. The Scottish Rite sponsor 225 speech and language clinics for children across the country, part of the $2 million a day or $750+ million a year American Masonry spends on philanthropy.

Scottish Rite Racing will compete in the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series commencing at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida on February 17th for the full 35 race schedule.

Scottish Rite Masons and the Racing Team are very excited about their partnership. After the thrill of a NASCAR race is over, the Scottish Rite hopes its racing team will leave an increased awareness of childhood speech and learning disorders and the vital importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Dean R. Alban, 33°, Director of Membership Services for the Scottish Rite said, “If we can help just one more child learn to speak and communicate, then our race team will have served its purpose.”

For additional information on the Scottish Rite Racing Team contact Stan Dodd, 202-232-3579 or sdodd@scottishrite.org.
