Thank you for being the first post! There can only be a 'first post' once in the life of the forum, and you are it!!
To answer your question: I saw that program too, and I found it to be of high quality (as is the usual for the History Channel). I don't have any personal knowledge about the inner workings and/or history of Knights Templar. The little I do know comes from programs such as the one on the History Channel, or in published literary works, so it would be pure presumption and supposition if I were to comment about the authenticity of the program. I did find the recorded history displayed in the program fascinating. |

Hi, I also saw the week of "Freemasons" on the History Channel. I thought they stayed in the middle and tried to not take any particular sides. Did you see the filming in Naval Lodge #4?

I am delighted to see this forum. I am the president of the Al Asad Masonic Square and Compasses Club, Al Asad Air Base Iraq. We are re-organizing Land, Sea, and Air Lodge #1, which has a history going back to WW1. Please see
www.esmason.com Fall 2005 Issue page 32 I would like to hear from any masons around the world who are interested in Masonry in Iraq, or the middle east. I attended a lodge in Saudi in 1991. My only regreat about Masonry, is that I was not a mason when I was on Active Duty, it would have made a real difference. charles.martin20@us.army.mil |

Albert Pike started the first Lodges here in South Carolina shortly after the Civil War, his book "Morals and Dogmas" given to initiate's of the 14th degree wreaks of Lucerferian Doctrine and other mumbo jumbo, I made the right choice by not becoming a mason when given the chance.

Go for it......I'm sticking with the "solid Rock Foundation" Jesus Christ, he's all the light I'll ever need.

Man you are way out of line. Freemasonry existed in South Carolina, long before the war of Yankee Invasion.
Albert Pike's book "Morals and Dogma" is NOT presented to individuals who complete the 14th degree of the Scottish Rite. "Morals and Dogma" USED to be presented to individuals who completed the 32d degree, but the volume is long out of print, and was never used as official text of the Scottish Rite (Southern Jurisdiction) I knew that when this forum got started, that it would be just a matter of time, before anti-masons came out of the woodwork. Right now, in Iraq, our Masonic Square and Compasses Club is receiving donations from Masons all over the USA, sending us soap/toothpaste,etc for free distribution. We are also receiving all types of sporting goods and recreational items for the Rec Hall. Masonry has nothing to do with Luciferianism, satanism, or devil-worship. We are as harmless as the girl scouts. |

Didn't say he was, said he started the lodges here, the book was pushed on the early members and handed down. Got all kinds of ringknockers here, lodges, shriners, temples and what have you.

Wrong....I'm not anti mason, I have friends that are. I decided long ago its not for me, if you like it, great go for it. I did not say anything derogatory about masons nor did I call them devils, satanists, witches, warlocks or some other happy horsechitt, I said the book Morals and Dogmas wreaked of lucaferianism and it does, I have a very old copy of it, in fact it so old it is falling apart, it has a double headed eagle on the cover, leather bound. So enjoy your masonry, have fun with it, I'm not going to hassle you or bother with this thread anymore. MAHABONE! |

Your frustration is understandable, but I would call upon your kind offices to exercise patience. There are some anti-masons out there, but I believe that for the most part people just don't know enough about the reality of Freemasonry to have a clear picture....all they have is what they have heard or the trash that is on TV....they never get to see all the good we do....like maintaining orphanages....all the blood drives...or the efforts to supply the troops like the one you mentioned in your post...etc. I don't think biggatorsc is anti-mason...he's a good guy...but watch out...gators bite! |

I appreciate that, some real tight friends of mine belong to lodges, some of the best men I have ever known, I know they do grand things in the community etc. One in particular, a worshipful master, tells me I still got your application you'd be good in our lodge. No thanks got to many other irons in the fire. Enjoy guys, really, got nothing against you. I'll stay out of your business, lodge brothers belong with one another. |

“The Blue Degrees are but the outer court…of the temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretation. It is not intended that he shall understand them, but it is intended that he shall imagine that he understands them…The true explanation is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry (those of the 32nd and 33rd degrees)”
— Albert Pike (Grand Master of American Scottish Rite Freemasonry) If lower level Masons only knew the full extent of what Mazzini was referring to here. Pity. “We form an association of brothers in all points of the globe…Yet there is one unseen that can hardly be felt, yet it weighs on us. Whence comes it? Where is it? No one knows…or at least no one tells. This association is secret even to us the veterans of the Secret Societies” — Guiseppe Mazzini (Head of the Bavarian Illuminati 1800s. Successor to Weishaupt) “…We see our edifice…crumbling and covering the ground with ruins, we see the destruction that our hands no longer arrest…a great sect arose, which taking for its motto the good and the happiness of man, worked in the darkness of the conspiracy to make the happiness of humanity a prey for itself. This sect is known to everyone, its brothers are known no less than it name. it is they who have undermined the foundations of the Order to the point of complete overthrow; it is by them that all humanity has been poisoned and led astray for several generations…They began by casting odium on religion…Their masters had nothing less in view than the thrones of the earth, and the governments of the nations was to be directed by their nocturnal clubs…the misuse of our order…has produced all the political and moral troubles with which the world is filled today…we must from this moment dissolve the whole Order” — Duke of Brunswick (Grand Master of German Freemasonry. Written to Brethren in 1794) |

I have seen several programs like this one, good indeed, the validity is pretty stable. |

I had a grandfather who was rumored to be a Brother, but I never knew him very well. Not estranged, just many miles between. I have been curious about his history, but it stands as looking into a dark hole, no light within. I have never had a direct invitation, but there have been possible opportunities. Maybe it will happen someday.
Take care all. Pauly |
