I am currently looking at some Army surplus skis. Since I did my time in sunny Scholfield, I had little experiance with these skis.
I was hoping some one could give me some insight on what length of skis I should purchase. They come in 210, 200, and 190 cm. I am 5' 11" and weight 210 lbs. I will be planning to use these skis for my winter backpacking trips.

thank you

I am a former mountian unit member, I would not recommend the army issued ski. I would recommend you look for a good reputable mountianeering type of ski. You could start by checking out REI on the web or just type in nordic or mountaineering type ski. The army issue ski is very hard to learn how to use and not very user friendly.

Good Luck,
Ferg

Try to get some new skis http://www.geardirect.com/

Hang the Army ones on your wall.
