my husband i were married on the 3rd of this month. Smile he is enlisted in the army, and at tech school right now. i am already a dod civilian working for mwr, and we changed everything so that i am a dependent of his in deers. the insurance is going and processed, it reads correctly in deers. however on his ako, it still reads that he is divorced. i was also not put on his orders so he has to go fix those. my bigger question though, is that our first payment of bah was processed by the paycheck her recieved at the end of hte month, which is much faster than we expected...however it is based on the zip code of where he is going to ait, which is about $500 less than the zip code of our apartment here at home. he said they told him that it would be based out of where his command was when he filled out the paperwork. we don't want to rock the boat, but is in the right if he goes back to inquire about this. it seems, and i have read, that the bah should be based out of the zipcode of his dependents (me) not to mention his home home of record, which is our apartment where i live. not ft. eustis. is there an easy way to have that fixed? the amount of his bah where his command is nowhere near covers the rent here. not to mention the fact that he is in the barracks there and only for 3 months, so why would he need bah for that zip code. i also notice that the rent amount on his les reads 1, and his depns reads 0. he doesn't have any bas type in that block either. maybe that will help someone who knows about these things.

thanks in advance for any help! i really appreciate it! we're trying to get this fixed quickly, as he won't be at school much longer, but that doesn't stop rent from being charged while i'm living here. thanks thanks thanks!!

the BAH is correct. you are an acquired dependent. he is only entitled to BAH based on his current location. he would have only gotten BAH for your location if he was married BEFORE he reported to AIT.

Thank you so much for the quick response! I didn't expect anything that fast! If I have more questions, can I add them here? or should I make more of an attempt to get them into the right forum thread for their respective subjects....?

It is best if you put them in the correct forums.
