First let me say that I am a current Military Pay Quality Review Technician working at FT Gordon GA.

When I saw this issue raised here I presented it to the Director of this office and he then forwarded your concerns to his leadership at DFAS- Indianapolis. As of Friday no respones had been received back.

I would also like to state that the DIMHRS system access will not be exclusivly CAC Card access, the training module that I have completed states that each user will be given access thru a CAC Card or an "Employee ID' and a "Long and strong password". Employee ID will be used instead of the Social Security Number to establish each account. Long and strong password is defined as a 15 or more character password with at least two numbers, two capital letters, two special chatracters (yet to be established), and two lower case letters. This password must be changed every 60 days and cannot be used again for ten changes.

DIMHRS is a system and process still under development and testing. I assure you that as I see your concerns posted here I will forward them to DFAS to be addressed.

As always I hope this helps.

Terry

Thank you for taking the concerns that were voiced here and passing them forward. It is appreciated.

It is correct that civilians do not get the luxury of looking at their pay stubs before they are issued on payday. However, they don't lead the kind of life that service members do. In past civilian jobs both my DH and I have held, there were few, if any, surprises. We would check to make sure we were paid correctly on hours, overtime, etc. We never had to worry that we were overpaid $1.24 last pay period so the company held the next pay check in order to figure out what happened. Throw in deployments, TIG and rank changes, PCS, the whole gamut and the military has different pay issues.

Our household is another where the banking and budgeting falls on me. I told DH about this possible change. He said that it was ridiculous that I wouldn't be able to have online access to his LES. He mentioned that if he didn't trust me, I wouldn't be the one holding the checkbook at all times and he never would have given me access to mypay. I could care less about seeing what is in DH's online military record. I have no desire to fiddle with that. I do feel the need to view the LES. It will just make life much easier.

December 1st is the next payday. When you get the money in your account will depend on your bank, it can be anywhere from Wednesday night at Midnight to Monday morning. The military has no control over when you are actually paid. They release the money to the banks and then it is all up to them. If you do get it early just remember to budget wisely. While the 15th is a Monday so it might also happen the 1st is a Thursday, 2 1/2 weeks later.

But let's not forget that the 1st is a holiday. So the next pay might be on the 31st like last DecemberBig Grin HEHE!

Oh I just wanted to also add to my post about the pay stub thingy. If something goes wrong with your pay, you can definitely change that situation right away with your civilian employers. As for the Army good luck you'll fix it within the monthRazz

What you say about fixing the pay with the military is so true. My hubbie has jump status but haven't got jump pay since July 08. He started the process of fixing it almost a month and half ago. Then his team leader changed so hehad to wait for the new team leader to catch up with everything the last one was doing. Now he MIGHT get the retroactive jup pay next pay check and his jump pay every month after that but if he doesn't get it the 1st maybe the 15th and that's 2 months waiting for it to be fixed.

I wonder why does it take so long???

Camo, it could be this "Uh, we lost the paperwork?" or it could be "Hm...we thought you knew that you were missing a form so we didn't turn it in until now." It basically boils down to one thing.

Someone tends to drop the ball, but no one knows who and where so it gets stalled until it is brought up again. Doesn't that suck.

Well, I won't find out if my Bunny got his payback until this LES comes out and if not, he's definitely taking it up the chain. I mean he got his automatic promotion to SPC this past 16th, but he was promoted on the 1st of Aug with a waiver...so now we are just waiting....

Oh, my son is now going to be 9 months, 9 months he should have been added to his COLA, so that too..that sucks:P

THANK YOU! I checked with Navy Federal and they said the money will be in Friday at midnight. It would have been nice to have it for Black Friday but at least we don't have to wait til Monday.

Ugh I hate not having a full LES on the 15th. I am pretty sure the casual pay matt took out was on that. and its only 50 bucks but I hate not having a record. *ugh*

and still waiting for our re enlistment bounse. Do they give you an LES for that or does it just show in your account?

Ours wasn't out last night, either.

But, I'm glad I couldn't look. We've been shorted several hundred bucks due to an error in a memo that went to finance, and they said they'd get it fixed by this payday - they didn't. At least by the time I looked this morning I can actually go to finance and do something instead of sitting p.o.'d and upset last night and not sleeping.

Shouldn't it still show up on the 1st? Since the LES is supposed to be an accounting for everything all month?

For just a regular enlistment bonus, it just showed up in our account one day and then it was accounted for on the next LES.

Its not there. I just checked. but 15th was exactly 50 bucks short. I just don't like the fact I can't see it in black and white. Ya know.

I am just panicked about the bounse everyone else has seemed to get their bounse within a week of re uping. But we had all sorts of issues with the retention guy. And matt's out of contact till right before he's due home on R&R. So if the duded F-s up again. Matt's not gonna have time to fix it by the time I can tell him.

First off, caps = shouting. Big Grin

Now about your allowance. What allowance do you mean that he isn't sending you? Family separation pay? Or your housing allowance?

Please be a bit more specific so we can help you out.

For what I understand the only way to get some money from the money he is earning while in the military is to be authorized on his bank account or that his pay goes to your joint bank account. YOU don't get any allowance from the military unless he gives it to you so that means that will have to talk to him directly to make an arrangement. Nobody else can do anything so don't even bother going to any base in Puerto Rico or calling any office. It has to be through your husband.

Hope you can get any problems fixed soon!
