I know this is long but I need help. My wife was on active duty in Qatar with the Air Force. While there is injured her leg and foot. This was reported to the medical staff and recorded in her medical records. Upon returning to her unit here in the states, her commander required her to take a PT test. She informed her commander about the injuries and the commander discharged her from active duty and transferred her to a reserve unit. In doing so, she was denied any medical treatment for the injury, not paid while being treated and unable to obtain civilian employment due to her injury.
If she was injured in a combat zone on active federal duty- Isn't the government required to pay her, keep her on active duty until either healed or medical eval is done? We have sold everything we own and are now filing bankruptcy because the military WILL NOT HELP. What is my recourse? We have already filed an IG complaint but by the time it don e, we'll be homeless and our perfect credit will be shot.

no they do not have to keep her. if her injury was severe enough she can be discharged.
you need to get a VA rep, and I suggest you take this over to the Veteran's Forums.

she needs a VA disability rating and I hope you kept copies of all her medical treatmnet records.
