I been hearing alot of whining from the cold war vet contingent regards the new GI bill. Hey- your time is OVER. The young vets leaving the service will be our future in many regards.
I would rather that they get everything they need to bring my country back to greatness.
Thats right "back to greatness". We have come to the point where we have to import intellectual capital from overseas just to barely keep up with the rest of the world.

Don't mistake being tired of getting f'd over for whining OpHueCity. Those whiners as you call us did all of the things that the current GIs are doing. We deserve the same respect that they are getting and the same benefits. Just because we came to the end of our careers before 9/11 doesn't mean that we didn't work as hard, do long deployments, get seperated from our families or put up with the same BS as our troops do now. I have the utmost respect for them but they are no better than the rest of us who faithfully served our country.

I make no mistake here....current returning vets from Iraq-Afganistan will have the same opportunity to feel fuked over by the VA and military in spite of their new GI Bill. Too, there will be those who experience that sinking feeling of disillusionment that will come with the realization that the middle east was not worth the pain and loss to this countries young blood and treasure. Sooner or later they will understand what "peace with honor" really means. You know- about winning the battle but not the hearts and minds of a people,culture/country current neo-cons in power haved chosen to occupy well after the "mission was accomplished"
