Just wondering why I didnt get the chapter 30 rate increase this month. Seems unusual.

Anyone getting the certificate of eligibility for chapter 33 /9-11 sooner than 6 weeks?

1. Your payment for MGIB Ch 30 should have included the higher rate that was effective for training on or after 1 Oct 09. But - did you drop or add any classes this term? If yes, they might not have process that action yet. Check with your school certifying official.

2. Everything is taking 8 to 10 weeks to process at VA right now - applications for any GI Bill and Payments for Certifications of Enrollment - doesn't matter. Everything is processed in date received order.

Are you switching from MGIB CH30 to Post 9/11 GI Bill CH33 for this semester or next semester?

I am switching to Chapter 33 after this semester. I am burning the last few days of remaining entitlement I had on this current semester. Was just a little surprised that they are depositing 1321 instead of 1368 or whatever the new rate is.

My effective date of the Ch33 was 1/2/2010 on my application.

You need to call the VA at 1-888-442-4551 as this increase should have automaticly been put in place and you should have been paid.

Because of the high volumn of calls and the VA moved a number of their phone operators over to processing payments/claims - expect to have to redial several times just to be placed on hold. Keep trying and you will get through.
