I'm a 100% disabled Vet, due to unemployability, and would like to know if I can fly anyway, as in using the coast gard or some other way, It is understood that we can not flight military hops using space A.
I though I read somewhere we can fly the coast gard?

No, you cannot fly space A on any aircraft of any branch of the Armed Forces, and the CG is a branch of that. Presently, you must be a military retiree...Btw...in the Army Echo's newsletter that came in a week ago..a new website has been created for the MAC with the latest updates to prevent the "old" got stuck in Alaska inconveniences and to help & encourage more hops...and I found out why to by calling DOD...They count the number of people catching hops and so DOD now gets a little more money in their budget. Result? AMC wants more people taking hops.

For those disabled and not retired, you need to keep writing Congress to affect a change in policy.

Even if you could, I do not think the CG makes that flight.

Vacation Dumpster

But that's just me

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'

I once flew Space A on emergency leave. I got half way to where I was going and had to catch a commercial flight the rest of the way. I have no interest in using this method to get to a vacation spot and back. Driving is faster Roll Eyes
