Can i wear just my class a jacket to the veterans day parade? I earned the right to wear my medals and was wondering if reg were still in effect even thought my time is up? I've never got chewed out or called out.I've have also seen former marines and army wear just their class a jacket and no one seems to mine. If it is in effect how come i see Vietnam vets wear half uniform half civi's and their medals. what makes the the exception to the rule?

Welcome to military.com and welcome.

Yes you may wear the uniform. The regulations says, it should be a complete uniform. It may conform to the uniform standards at the time of separate on the current uniform.

Wearing parts of the uniform such as only the coat with out the complete uniform is a violation of the regulations and it should not appear that you are on active duty.

The wearing of parts of the uniform is done all of the time and there is know way to enforce the regulation But, it is showing, IMN2BHO, disrespectful.

When I wear the uniform, I always get my hair cut to the standards on June 1977 and when in class A greens my right shoulder patch is the retirees patch. My name tag has US Army Retired under my name. Here's a link to an article from the Army Times:

BTW, I closed and removed your post of the same topic as duplicate. Please read the Terms of Service found at the bottom of each thread in a link of the same name.

A listening ear, a caring heart, an open mind and an extended hand may be all I can offer, but it is yours without charge or Judgment.

I heard AppleBee's is doing Veterans Day, free dinner. But AppleBee's is requiring some type of paper showing that you was in the Military. I think Outback is doing a limited specials for Veterans Day. Golden Carrol is doing theirs from what the sign said, Nov 16, 2009. Seem's like alot of other companies are starting to jump on the band wagon. Today, I do attend church, and my local church had the Veteran's stand up.
