I have a quick question, my wife is getting back into CAP. She was a cadet who earned the PJOC badge and I know she can continue to wear it even thought she is now a Senior member. My question is all it says in the uniform regs is that it is to be worn on the right shoulder, I assume that means directly under the American flag, is this correct?

I think the new location for that patch would be on the left or right shirt pocket. Confirm this with CAPM39-1.

I have looked all in M39-1 and its suppliments and found nothing as of yet. I will have to approch some of the cadets at my squadron I guess to see the properplacement. If I remember right it gets worn on the right pocket. I am not sure.

The new location for NCSA patches is on the top left BDU blouse pocket, centered.

See here: http://level2.cap.gov/documents/2008_01_25_Uniforms.pdf

That would be freaky. I liked my NESA badge on my shoulder.

As did a lot of people. But then came along a wannabe CAP general who felt the reverse American flag patch (which the Air Force doesn't even wear) was more appropriate.

The general is gone, but the flag patch remains. I'm patriotic... I absolutely love our flag... but if the Air Force doesn't need it on the BDU then neither does CAP.

If folks are so into wearing patches/uniforms the way the AF does there shouldn't be any shoulder patches. So actually moving the NCSA patches to the pocket on BDUs brings CAP more in line with the AF. Much ado about nothing.

I agree. This includes the reverse American flag patch.

If CAP goes to the ABU, there will be no more patches; the AF is doing away with them.

There also will be no more unit or camouflage ballcaps, either. Only the patrol cap will be authorized.

And the beret....

Also...there is already an exception to the organizational ball cap rule with the ABU...so it is not too far fetched to see get a similar maybe even mandatory exception.

We had a great discussion in here once that was civilized and thought provoking about uniform changes that we would like to see. It included adding Warrant Officers, dropping alot of the crap on the uniforms, dropping most uniforms altogether, etc.
Its a shame we cant have another and add it as a sticky. Frown
