Hello, my name is Michelle and my husband is a commander in the NG. They are currently in Iraq and we are thinking about him going active duty instead of him returning to his normal job. How easy would it be for him to transfer over and how long would it take?? He is infantry in the Gaurd and normal life he is an engineer. Also would he have to stay infantry, or could he do something with the engineers?? He is really to busy to explain all this stuff to me, and it is hard over the phone, so that is why I am asking. Oh and would he lose any rank if he was able to transfer? thanx!!

he has to go through HRC, not a Regular Army recruiter.
