Basic Training
Posted
After five years enlisted in Naval Aviation and completing my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering I find myself getting a little old to apply for a flight training spot in any branch of the service except possibly the Coast Guard.

I am 30 yrs old but with the constructive age I could still apply to OCS. What I would like to know is if the constructive age is applied to a flight school applicant? I would obviously be making some broad, sweeping assumptions that I would be accepted and complete OCS, but I am hearing from my recruiter that the age limit is 31 for flight school.

I have spent some time to find the Coast Guard COMDINST 1500.10B which says the age limit is 28. I also have heard of people going through at age 34. Does anyone have any solid input to this? I know the needs of the military are subject to change but are there any real rules on flight training age minimums?
