Check it out some time...the feature on the HH65 Depot-Level Maintenance in E. City. We thought it was interesting (when we shot it) to see what goes on to make a 20-year old aircraft last another 20.
thanks for the videolink. eric langenbacher was my EO at airsta detroit; he's a good pilot and crewmate.
i like the comms improvements. the new HF antenna is a big plus. it sure beats the old "clothesline" that used to hang on the right side of the helo. i'll bet the military satellite comms antenna will be another huge bonus as well.
Ibleedorange - Sorry about the Queen video. If you wait 10 seconds, the video will play. It's an irritating commercial being run by our video server company. We've complained - not that I don't like Queen - just not the same 10 seconds over and over and over again.
Old School Swimmer - By the way, it was good for us to see Langenbacher, too. We had first met him when we interviewed him about the Alda Siebrands story - he was the co-pilot when she jumped in to the water in the case off Port Angeles. We didn't know who we were interviewing till we walked in the door and it was like "Wow. We know you!" Of course, he didn't remember us but that's the way it is. We're 20 minutes in some Coastie's life but then we live with that Coastie for days and some times weeks as we write then edit the video.
Watched the first cut of CASA video today. It's coming along.
