I can understand the purpose for the raise increase for tricare and it's the same thing that happens in the civilian sector. You're promised one thing and then, when it suits the powers that be, it's get changed. Are these powers that be willing to take cuts in their pay to supplement the increases to the retirees increased costs. Yes, I am still within the working age (under 65 years of age) that the cost increase will affect but you will be reneging on the promise that you made to me when I enlisted (voluntarily) and gave the government 20 years of my life. I know all promises can't be kept, for certain reasons, but promises to those who have served and given 20 years of their lives in the defense of their country (whether in combat situations or not) should not be put asunder. Additionally, you do not know the personal situations of the individuals that this change will have an effect on. Think hard and long about your decision. We no longer have a draft and the defense of this country is voluntary - you may find less and less willing to do so when promises made are not kept and they're being sold a bill of goods. You take a pay cut and we'll be willing to do so also. Unfortunately, we can prove our cuts - yours can be hidden and not really effected. We see the changes to our pay and lifestyles as do you, but we don't see yours. Are you willing to expose what we can't see?
