Well,Boing has always put out a good product, at a lower cost, and it looks like they just might have done it again.

Prototype aircraft? Has it flown? Has it been tested to see if it meets the specifics they said it will? Sounds interesting. Draws attention to the need of a new tanker as the new F-15 has short legs. Tell or show us more as you have our attention now!Cool

Sounds like a new paint job of secret xky coating on an E model. The
"E" model was rushed into service during the first Gulf War to relieve the aging RF-4E's,(Wild Weasels). It went into service without even being flight tested, and proved itself without a doubt. Do not confuse it with the regular F-15 C's and D's, it is a Bird of Prey all of its on. However as stated above in a earlier post it has short legs, and no super cruise, but can more than prove its worth in all theatre's of operations.

Those two big air scoops would say 'I'm coming' louder than Ron Jeremy.

Should have moved them up top of a new wing.

A new build F-15 with some stealthy modifications should be more than adequate for these countries for many years to come, at least until Russia starts selling a 5th generation fighter to their ememies.

How many damn hi tech planes does the US really need? We already have the Osprey, The B-2, B-1, F-35, F-22.(Did I leave any out?) Are these multimillion dollar planes and their billion dollar "development programs" really worth it? Not in my humble opinion. Our miliatry procurment officials are led around by the nose by aircraft manufacturers. And they've been know to take a bribe or two. Stop with the new
toys.

First off, Boeing says the modified F-15 is aimed at foreign markets, not USAF needs.

What does the Osprey have to do with fighters?

B-1 is approaching 25 years old. Design goes back another 10-15. B-2 is not far behind and there are only 20 of them.

Look at acft F-35 and F-22 are to replace. That will give you an indication of need.

Research new Chinese, Russian, and even DPRK fighters. The advantage we once held is not so clear cut anymore. US force have not had to fight under a hostile sky for over 60 years. Do you prefer to return to that if a major conflict should happen along? Too many people think of high-tech weapons as toys. They are not. The weapons are meant to keep the advantage with us. It is interesting that the same "toy" mentality was applied to the F-15, F-16, B-1, B-2, B-52, M-1, AH-64, etc. All of which are performing missions as we speak.
