The nation as a hole needs to stand up and make the sacrifices nessasary to help this country in it's time of need. The new military has been supported, backed and have been given a lot more benefits and pay then any have recieved in the past. And I'm sure that the men and the women of today are understanding enough and not greedy where they would understand the need of sacrifice to heal this nation. They would not exspect that all the military before them that served for 11cents an hour,10,000 dollars to the wife and kids if he was killed, small amount for college, and like the VNV no benefits for 30 years for medical, or the rest of the nation that has lost jobs, home, retirements, and savings, to give them a luxery ride thru life, or at least I don't think they are that greedy and self centered. And it is an insult to ask the question, in my eyes.
The question I have. And this is simply the first thing that popped into my head. Will such a regulation cause doctors to deem patients as deployable simply because they haven't reached the 'threshold?'
I am sure DOD could check with the NFL on concussions. I am serious, why re-invent the wheel if you think about it makes sense (cents). A NFL player has a defined cost value just as much as a soldier. Ciao, lou

I agree with your general concept from a patriotic point of view. But why should Americans in general, mainly your average joes volunteer to serve when the only thing this nation as a hole does is screw people for the almighty dollar as a nation as a hole? Companies taking jobs out of the country, government taking their liberties and freedoms away, governments taking their money away from excess taxing, taxing income and work instead if spending, getting paid 10.00 bucks an hour so the CEO at the top makes millions every year, not able to afford health insurance and care because of the greedy insurance and care providers, the broken promises it gives to Vets, companies treating people with disrespect, no dignity and total disregard for individual freedom and independence. To name just a few. Conservatives say the capitalist has a right to do what they want, well so does the American people in general. let the capitalist worry about military and securing their freedom and safety. Unless of course you make all serve, then the capitalist will be right there beside them..which sounds good to me. Then they can earn their own GD freedoms and security and not have to worry about their fellow American or their "nation as a hole".
To be a nation as a whole, the nation as a hole must act like a nation as a whole.
Lets see capitalist conservative and Educated Cathy making 400k a year go fight for her own country and her own liberty instead of enjoying the fruits of others sacrifice and not returning **** back except a hard time.

The NFL stuff sounds like BS. Think about it. 1 Con or 100. Depends on where, how hard and when aqs well as the individual I would say. I doubt if there is a "magic number" to try and put one in place is once again abusing those that served just to make it an "easy and politically correct" decision....BS FLAG.
the problem with concussions is that it cannot be picked up by CT Scans or MRIs. what is being done in some circles is that members of a team take a test based on recognition and is timed. then, if there is a possibility of a concussion, the same test is taken again. from what i understand, this system works.
concussions can cripple or kill, lets us hope they look for a proper solution.
and yes, in a war zone one can get their chimes rang. but, it is part of the risk we take as members of the military. we continue on.
