One of the benefits of an all volunteer military is that it's really hard to end a war through public opinion.

We'd still be in Vietnam if the Army were all volunteer in the 60's and 70's.

There are some good thing starting to happen for OEF/OIF Vets. Two former members of the Oregon National Guard Reintegration Program have been hired as congressional veterans/military advisors. These are the folks that will have congress' ear. That is a good thing! Not earth shattering, but a good thing.
