If you’re talking about BRAC that was a plan put in motion by REPUBLICANS Bush 41 and Dick Cheney to reduce military spending to open the doors for tax cuts for the rich.

Oh and it was a REPUBLICAN Congress that submitted those cuts to Clinton.

Oh and Bushes paying for his war on borrowed money to preserve tax cuts for the rich hasn’t worked out to good for the American economy. It wasn’t to long ago the American dollar was worth more than Euro but that’s not the case anymore.

Oh and I’ll let you in on a secret there is plenty of wasteful spending in the military than can be cut without reducing readiness.

Let me say this with an open mind and a strong heart. Obama will take care of our military members. He has spoken and showed nothing but respect for them. It is a good time indeed to be wearing the uniform of the United States Military services.

Obama will take care of the military but I expect there will be massive cuts in the buying of hardware. The nation will have to make cuts across the board. I expect massive cuts in the military budget. I would also not be surprised to see the age at which people start receiving social security benefits raised. Maybe 72?

We the people are going to have make sacrifices and if we truly love America we will make them.

Are you aware that Robert Gates -- a republican and holdover from Bush's administration -- will remain as Defense Secretary?

Are you further aware that the "dismembering" that occurred during the Clinton years was, in fact, the work of Bush I's Defense Secretary, Dick Cheney, who -- because of the "Peace Dividend" -- future-budgeted the now-infamous "downsizing"?

So I'd say that Pres. Obama will rank military issues very close to the top.

I think he should build a new tank we could call it the Hiliary. A cold heartless, unstoppable machine that kills anything in its path. If this happens then we will know that he is serious about the military. Ha HA

He probably did not pay any attention to how was appointed either. He believes what he believes and will not let any thing as unimportant as FACTS influence him.

And don't forget that up until 2006, during several years of war, the Bush admin stated that NO increase in the size of the military from what it was during the Clinton admin (peace time) was needed. If the reductions were so bad during peace time why aren't the people attacking Clinton for thre reductions attackign the Bush admin for not increasing the size during a war?

I’m kinda thinking the Bush Tank:
1. Has no sights, simply fires in random directions when engaged.
2. Radio communications is unintelligible.
3. Has two speeds…stop & go.
4. Has no steering…can’t change course.
5. Costs 5 time the quoted price for production.
6. When it confronts an obstacle, stalls, bogs down and blames the Infantry.
Wink

He will rank military issues where ever they are most expediently addressed for polytickle purposes. The new Prez is highly polytickle, for sure.
