And thank you, Paul Rieckhoff, for what you have done and continue to do on behalf of Veterans.

Good post.

Happy Thanksgiving boys and girls in service!

Put a pie in the oven. I'll be there soon.

Rieckhoff is a Socialist and a "Trojan Jackass for the Anti-War Movement". His IAVA post is simply a guise.

Well said...

On a day that should be about giving thanks, I applaud Paul Rieckoff and the work he has done on behalf of fellow veterans.

Thanks to all who have served honorably, and a prayer for all those families that have lost a loved one while serving. God Bless.

Its absolutely beyond belief that anyone who gives a damn about our Veterans could write such garbage. The GREAT work Paul Rieckhoff and IAVA have done and are doing on behalf of the Veterans are well documented. To use words like "socialist" or "trojan jackass" to describe a combat Veteran like Paul Rieckhoff? What about that new GI bill or pressing for funding tramatic brain injury treatment for example?
Of course those kinds of achievements don't matter to some malcontent whose politics and politicians were shown the door on November 4th.

Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks to OUR men and women in uniform. Great article Paul, keep up the good work!

My politics have nothing to do with my comments about Rieckhoff. I realize that you were a Marine, but try reading anyway about Rieckhoff. I'm sure you can find an article with pictures.

IAVA has done good work for our returning vets. Nobody is disputing that.

And yeah, I have become a bit of a malcontent, although not a bitter one. I have a problem with a rookie that is considered the most liberal senator about to become our next CIC. A lot of his political thinking is so far left that some call him socialistic. "Distribution of wealth" was/is a socialistic mandate of the Vietnam government. We all know that he voted against the war, and only was "forced" to visit our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan after senator McCain made it well known that BO had never been there before. It is clear he does not like the military, its actions, nor has respect for anyone serving in it.

If I'm going too fast, have your little sister explain it to you. Wink

Oh boo hoo...republibot sez whut? Barack Hussein Obama doesn't like the troops?,is a socialist?,and wants to take yer gunz. You wingnutz are beyond laughable. Face it, what scares the doo doo out of you is B.O. "righting the ship" with the economy, bagging Usama, and Americans having faith in their government again. Maybe you should have Joe the (unlicensed) plumber explain that one to you.

Oh yeah,my little sister told me to tell you to go "Cheney" yourself! Wink

Too bad the author spent so much of the article tooting the IAVA horn instead of using the article to put the spotlight on veterans and current military members and the sacrifices they have made. And when I say veterans, I mean ALL veterans, not just those that are involved in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Of course, what should I expect with an organization (maybe a PAC - Political Action Committee?) whose name omits all veterans except those involved in Iraq or Afghanistan.
