We already won World War II and the Cold War, and we already lost Vietnam. We don't need to do those things again.

Again, BS from the far left. If memory serves me well, we left Vietnam in 73 and the war was not lost until the leftists pulled support with the Dems in Congress from the VN troops and the war was lost in 75. Guess Huber is not to versed in math. Normal garbage from the left and not too up on History.

I often tell people I left Vietnam in October 1972 and we were winning then. I can’t vouch for what happened after that. But, please don’t tell me the US lost the war.

This guy has written several articles blasting the US military. But he really hates John McCain. This is nothing more than a “Get out the vote for Obama article.”
quote:
… Yet John McCain and the war oligarchs he fronts for would have us continue to buy $330 million fighter jets to dogfight rogue airliners, and $2 billion bombers to do the job of $600,000 cruise missiles, and $8 billion dollar aircraft carriers to chase pirates around the Indian Ocean, and a $63 billion missile defense system that couldn't shoot down a butterfly.…

Jeez.....what a dweeb Jeff Huber is! My guess is he was forced out of the Navy and has some sort of axe to grind about any successful military type out of petty jealousy. I can't believe Mil.com would actually pay for the BS tripe that this buttwipe cranks out!

This clown must want a position in Obama's cabinet. Sound like a left wing looser to me. I'm ashamed he even mentions he was a Naval Officer. Someone should have thrown him to the sharks. I never heard of an aircraft carrier chasing pirates around the Med.. If he means the pirates we've heard about lately, they aren't in the Med and they are not being chased by a carrier. What an A-Hole!!

You're right, you won! Too bad nobody else got the message. That, my son, is what they used to call a 'tough tit'.

But sleep well, you won. You really did!

Now go tell the Viets, they really love ya, too.
They have a lot of respect for your 'warrior spirit'.

This from the great Carsoni - reader of unopened envelopes and interpreter of underwear skids.
We've been through this before, Sundowner, and you know as much about me as you did then. You're an ignorant man.

Huber, however, he has a mind, and a sense of humor. And he's right. You could learn from him, but I doubt it.

Poopy, your profiles remain, even if you change them and you have admitted in your previous profile, that you never served a day in the Canadian military and you admitted that you are a Canadian citizen...
So, don't force those of us who have been on here as long as you have, to embarrass you...
By pulling up your old profile and your old posts about you not having served...
Even if you erase them, those of us that replied, have it locked into our replies to you, do you really want to be embarrassed?...
Respectfully, SUNLINER81

Yes, he has. He is a Canadian who likes to tell us unenlightened barbarians how much we don't know.

Considering Huber is a contributor to "the Daily Kos", about as bad a bit of leftie drivel as I've seen web-wise - where this story is also available for consumption - would you really think this pathetic excuse for a swabbie would show his colors to be anything but? Just another troll, albeit a somewhat literate one, but a troll none the less...

Get a grip, Jeffie, and leave your "military power complex" conspiracy theory rubbish where it belongs, down there with all the 9/11 revisionist garbage, new world order nonsense, and other suchs ravings, all the product of weak-kneed feeble-minded dolts, morons, and other assorted bottom feeders with not a coherent thought to be found among them...

This guys way of thinking is off the deep-end. Curious how some of his essays are required reading at the Naval War College. This makes me nervous.

Is it possible to discuss one issue Huber raises? Are some weapons systems too expensive? Do they benefit mainly their manufacturers, but not the country?

Remember General Eisenhower's warning.

CDR Huber, with all due respect, you couldn't carry CAPT McCain's flight kit.

Strange? Or, not so strange' it appears to me that the only answer to theoretical shortcomings in the nations' ability to educate, provide health and ensure 'everyone has a chicken in the pot and a car in the garage' is to throw money from somewhere at it.

And usually, they select and thereby condem, the defense of the nation, as the bill payer.
