Wow, what a good article, a good read, especially for me, my Dad was in the Army Air Corps in North Africa in 1944, Staff Sgt. Myron H. Eidsmoe. He was in the ferrying command, support. He said those years traveling in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Morroco and even Senegal and Congo were the most exciting of his life- but he pushed me not to join the military after I graduated high school. Now that I'm 43 and too old, I wish I had. His older brother Allan was training at Hickam Dec 7 1941 when it was attacked. What a legacy, my dad is 85 and still alive but his older bro died 3 years ago. When I was a freshman in high school I asked uncle Al about Dec 7th and he just looked away and stayed silent. Later my dad told me "Don't ask your uncle Al about that, he put a lot of buddies in bags that day".
