When I was in Iraq - both times - there was a ton of sex to be had. Almost all it between consenting and willing soldiers. And who cares, we ought not be getting involved in people's sex lives.

What we need to do is make it ok for soldiers to have porn, and we need to make it ok for soldiers to have sex with prostitutes. Although that may not help in Iraq, it certainly would help in Korea, where sexual assault cases are higher than the Army average.

Basically... the Army needs to stop "cock-blocking" their soldiers!

Specify "non-grunt types", especiaially considering its mostly the "grunt types" that are the problem. Also, I wouldn't have my wife/daughter/sweetheart on the front line. Call me non-progressive, but the front is no place for women and it's caused nothing but problems since it was allowed.

Bought - I got one for a friend of mine who was deployed a few years ago. He was VERY happy! I'm sure it beat the hell-out-of a sock!

If the military would let more Gay people in they would reduce much of this sexual assault in the ranks. If I had my way the only ones allowed to have sex in the military would be 0-4's and above for the Officers and E-6's and above for enlisted. Everyone else caught having sex while on duty or on ship would be sent to a firing squad.

It is as it always has been. The United States Military views all who serve as expendable and will not lift a finger otherwise.
Until the American public starts taking an interest in the treatment of soldiers instead of some two bit celebrity it will not change.
We as soldiers have a duty to police ourselves, if you see someone who you know that is committing crimes report it or better yet, HANDLE the situation. Integrity, it used to be a quality possessed by service members.
These days of the new modern soldier, that joins the Army to "kill" rather for pride are ransacking our precious force. I would not serve with half of the soldiers that are in the military right now, I couldn't trust them to turn my back on them. The horrible thing is , is that we have done this to ourselves. We have let it get this far out of hand, by simply not caring. Intestinal Fortitude, that used to be another quality possessed by military members.
I am going to catch a ton of flack for this post but someone had to say it. We have become a force of whiners, what happened to the days when NCO's were not afraid of their troops. When an NCO made it to that position because he or she held a certain quality above that of his or her peers? It makes me sick to wonder if some of the sorry soldiers that were in Units of my past are still in and might be NCO's leading troops....

Another negative rant about the military. What else is new. This site likes to incite ire and discontent; that's what they do. We have many females serving admirably. We also have predetors. We also have a majority of personnel who serve admirably doing the right thing. Remember folks, the military is a reflection of our society. Some of it we can nip in the bud and some we can't and those personnel are dealt with accordingly. The services also have an equal opportunity program and their command to report violations of policy and regulation. From my experience working with many female soldiers, it's just like male soldiers-you have good and you have slugs in both genders. But, once again, military.com wants to HIGHLIGHT all that is wrong with the military 90% of the time. If you can't see it, you ain't looking! This guy always has something negative to say so his credibility is suspect just like military.com's is!

1SG is right in a sense, this site does send forth more negative reports than it should, be it the cynical nature of the scorned military member or the American that watches the negative attention portrayed by the media.
I take great pride in my years as a member of the greatest Army in the world, however there are many things that need to be fixed. It does not need to start with the military though. It needs to start with some familiar words that start the Constitution. "We the people", we the people can change what ever we want to, that is what we fight for, and have fought for in years past.
Educate your children on what is right and hope that they will make better choices than we did at their age.
We just had primary elections for state offices here in my state, it pains me that only 11% of the registered voters actually voted. Yet the person's on this site complaining about things, and the way they are probably don't even take the time to research and vote on a candidate that CAN change things....
We take for granted most of the things that make us the most powerful nation in the world. Our right to choose what it is that we want to govern us.
It goes back to my previous comment, if your politician isn't acting as he or she should. You have the power and obligation to relieve them.
