I see no problem with being safe rather than sorry in this situation. A few more months gives valuable time to fine tune and build confidence of the Iraqis.

This request Coming from a chief Iraqi leader in the Anbar Provisional Council, I'd aver that some do see the need, & appreciate our presence there...At least until their own Army & border security forces are much more prepared to deal with future eventualities under their own power of force. When that is estimated to have come about; then our forces, I'm sure, will be more than happy to be able to withdraw....

MY problem with it is that I cannot help but wonder what they paid this guy - to ask for such a delay. Everyone else in IRAQ wants us out, and that embarrasses the administration, so suddenly this guy comes out of the woodwork and asks us to "please - please - please stay, for just another few months, or maybe longer, pretty please"???

It's bogus, on it's face. There is NO reason why we cannot get out starting TODAY, and everyone nows it.

Not one more American life should be sacrificed in IRAQ.

The truth is out there, Weather, and you're out there too... so by association you must be on to something.......

In '05, the Anbar Provence was one of the most volatile in Iraq.
I'll agree with the above post that says it's better to be safe than sorry.
