What a rambling, disjointed piece of nonsense. First he quotes the Constitutional requirement that a President be a natural born citizen of the United States. Then he goes on a non-sequitur filled discourse on McCain on the Forrestal - good - and McCain "blocking" information about POWs - bad - and wraps it up by saying he doesn't like McCain's position on illegal aliens and by the way, he can't be President because he's not a natural born citizen. If being able to bloviate is all one needs to be a talk show host then I want my own talk show.
Anyway, I take it this guy is actually claiming that anyone who was born outside of the contiguous boundaries of the United States is not a "natural born citizen", which will come as a distinct surprise to everyone out there who was born in a military hospital or a U.S. territory to United States citizens. Good luck with THAT argument.
Well I guess we are all entitled to our opinions. That beig said. If a child born to An american citizen serving overseas at the behest of this country, that birth beng duly registered etc... does not meet the constituitions definition then the constitution needs to be changed. And maybe I am a bit dumb witted here, when McCan was born I believe the Canal Zone belonged to the US.
Talk Radio is in absolute desperation over the thought of a McCain nomination. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of guys..
I used to think they were over paid, but to be able to say "Mitt Romney is the only true conservative in the race" and not burst into hysterical laughter is a skill in and of itself...
Why do I have the impression, it's now time that all tin foil heads and other zanies are crawling out of their holes ?
How can a country nearly invert (pervert ?) the sense of its Second Amendment, and equally start a hair splitting discussion whether a man, who would be very likely a good President, is a natural born citizen in the very definition ? Is this a joke ? Where is the hidden camera ?
First Congress approved on March 26, 1790 the following: "The children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States."
Anything unclear ?
This Tom Kovach believes himself to be superior to Congress ? Let's say it like it really is, this guy is simply the most unimportant person in the world, and he's trying his best to be important. At least a bit for a short time.
A child born to two US citizens while one or both are serving their country overseas is,and will always be, a natural born citizen. There are some real mental midgets out there.
The writer is wrong but to even consider McCain as president takes overlooking his record. Ann COulter is right, McCain is more liberal than Clinton. He cant control his temper, he would probably die in office, he doesnt want to close the border and wants to give amnesty and citizenship to a bunch of illegals. He has had his name on every piece of liberal legislation coming out of the senate in the last 7 years. he is a tax and spend liberal.
McCain was naturally born on a US territory, the Panama Canal Zone. That land belonged to the US, from the time that the Panamanian government granted it to us until Carter gave it back.
This flimsy reasoning was also brought up during the candidacy of Barry Goldwater.
You see, Senator Goldwater was born before Arizona became a state, when it was just a "territory". Of course, Arizona became a state in 1912.
Further U.S. military bases, consulates and embassies are considered equivalent to sovereign territories of the United States as far as jurisdiction goes.
The attack dogs are rabid. This will only get worse as time passes. The evil empire of the left that is in bed with Islam dreads nothing more than Senator John McCain. He is running on the platform to address the evil of Islam. Our gas dollars are being spent against this patriot. Stop jihad!
