What about the haunted 'operating room' at Bathesda Naval Hospital. And we can't forget the haunted senior NCO/CPO/Officers rooms in the old Charleston Naval Hospital open ward, I think it was Ward 3. Not to mention the headless soldier still manning a Civil War Battery across the inlet from the Parris Island Disbursing Office on the old pier. There's been more than one Marine to hashmark his skivvies over there on a dare. The last, before I shut up, is the Phantom Platoon that's heard and seen on the Parris Island Rifle Range in the mornings as the mist rises. It's at the 200 yard line on the range nearest the old family burial plot. They've been seen marching onto the 200 yard line with the 'Hat' Singing cadence. There are more, like the VA hospital at Tuskeegee, Alabama. But...
Respects...and BOO!!! Sergeant Major |

I cant believe they havent mentioned some of the places on the base I work at!
This place is creepy at night and people have seen the ghost around here(cemetary is close by). One of the houses that is meant for the higher ups is haunted too, no family has stayed in that house for more than a week |

Launch Control Center A-0 at GFAFB, ND was rumored to be haunted. According to the legend, a construction worker fell into the cement as they were pouring it down for the construction of the capsule. The man was supposedly buried alive in the concrete. There were stories of people hearing banging and moans in the middle of the night. One year, I was pulling alert during Halloween and was reading a Stephen King novel. At that moment, there was a power surge and a whole bank of lights blew out, one light bulb at a time. I will admit that I did a bit of a freak out and immediately threw out my novel into the trash bin.

That's a good one Aggie! Biggs Army Airfield, though not haunted(as far as I know) is scary at night with the wind blowing. I was on hangar guard, 24 hour gig(lots of fun, not). About 0400, I'm dead tired, eyes wanting to shut down. When out of the blue an owl gave this God-awful screach! |

If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause. Paul Tindale |
When I was with USASAFS,Berlin, the mess hall and Companies A & B were in the old SS training school building on Andrews Barracks. I think someone once stated that it had 7 sub-basements. On the first sub level, there was a long, narrow room, with little doors about 3 feet high every 6 feet or so. When opened, there was just a small space, with a drain in the floor and a ledge on one side. Evidently these were interrogation cells. Quite a few of the soldiers swore that there were ghosts down in the basements. A few refused to reside in the barracks and sought off post accommodations. One even stated that he saw a ghost in the old Olympic pool build by Hitler that was near the caserne entrance. As I didn’t live in the barracks, can not confirm any of this. Have a good day!~!

I have a story that happened to me. When I was in the Army Reserve, we were doing our 2 weeks summer duty at the Presideo, before that place was finally closed down. We stayed in one of those huge old brick barracks, the one adjacent to the flag pole and cannon.
The building was creepy to begin with, with lots of abandoned rooms, old latrines that they had torn the fixtures out of, etc. And, they had built this structure on top of an old Spanish and Indian graveyard, tossing the bones found there in the bay. It was huge inside, with those tall, tall victorian rooms with high ceilings. The buildings were some of the few that had survived the SF earthquake. I had one roommate, and he woke me up very late, inexplicably jumping up and down on his rack, like we used to do when we were kids. I groggily told him to knock it off, as it was the middle of the night, but he kept jumping up and down, up and down. I finally recalled that he was out that night, and turned on the lights - and yeah, no one there. Just an empty Army rack about 10 feet from my side of the room. Other folks commented about strangeness in the old building, but that experience I did have with my own senses. |

Don't forget to add Ft. Leavenworth to the list of haunted places, especially the Disciplinary Barracks.

I was stationed in Conn Barracks, Sweinfurth germany 1978-81. There was a "ghost" story or urban legend that under the post Gym there was a basement sealed from view and a german WWII fighter was there with the pilot still in it. Conn barracks was a German airbase during the war. It had many underground tunnels all ove the post when I was stationed there, especially where the Army helicopters were parked. I did go into a partially collapsed tunnel once, not much to see but It was very cool.

I remember hearing about the ghost on Hanson when I was there but if I'm not mistaken it was from a Japanese National.

Best one I remember was Iwo Jima "1981-82" Westpac", spent three days and two nights there...
became a firm believer in Ghost and or unrestful souls...didn't get a bit of sleep the whole time there. And yes, at 46 I still believe in Ghost. |

First tour was at Bismark Kaserne in Katterbach...our arms and supply rooms were in the 1st basement level and had been the mortuary for the Luftwaffe base there during WW2. No one liked the basement at night.
Second tour was Wildflecken...Post Headquarters was rumored to be haunted and there was an old mass graveyard a little way below the housing area that was used as a dare for new troops |

US Navy Hanger #4 at NAS Lakehurst, NJ is famously haunted. A Naval Officer was supposedly killed during the disaster of the German Zepplin HINDENBURG, then seen wandering around inside the hanger during week-ends. I often heard that the Navy officially recognized this fact and closed the hanger during week-ends. I was on active duty in the 70's and the USN actually published stories concerning this.

The only thing anyone needs to be afraid of in the middle of the night is a SpecOps man.
