Extraordinary story. Several years ago I toured the Army's medical exhibit at Fort AP Hill while visiting the National Scout Jamboree. I remember being very impressed with all the capabilities our field hospitals have, and listened with awe as one of the medics explained the computer system and our ability to have surgeons stateside directing surgery a world away. So glad to see this marvelous technology and organization combine to save this man's life and keep a husband and father around for his family. It's all money well spent.
Kudos to the people who helped this brave soldier to survive, and death to the coward and his ilk who did it. We will perservere, not because the President says so, but because we have the best men and women on the planet over there!
That is absolutely amazing...that guy will probably be the most hard *** guy anyone will ever hear about...and great job to joint-service capabilities that kept that guy alive...thats truly amazing...I hope the insurgent recieved a gift of a 5.56.
It is really awesome as to what our military can accomplish when they stop the inter-service fighting and learn to work together for a common cause. It wasn't just one branch of the military that saved this man's life if was a combined effort of everyone. Job Well done!
God has blessed America with men of courage and confiction. I pray for them all and thank the lord for sparing his life and giving him back to his family.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the soldier with the RPG rocket plunged through his one side and out the other. How he survived with that stuck in him was a miracle, now this. Thank the good Lord for saving both of them. And thank the Lord for the corpsman, pilots, crew, and medical staff who take care of all these fine warriors. I give them an extra prayer for the job they all do everyday.
Does anyone remeber seeing the x-ray photo of the guy from Bosnia with the Leatherman embetted in his head. The story had something to do with a landmine. At least according to the Military Urban Legend.
161001618, he was a SSG in Bosnia was in PSYOP and was trying to disarm a, I want to say a PMA-1 a very basic antipersonnel mine, with his Leatherman. Needless to say things didn't go well for him. No Legend.
