I LEARNED TO HAVE FAITH DURING 22 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE MARINE CORPS. And I maintain that faith in the professionalism of Marines. The faith is reflected by the conduct of most individual Marines: ESPRIT. Loyalty is a two way channel so I am glad to see the orderly process to find justice and not a quick rush to pin scapegoats with blame. SEMPER FIDELIS !  |

Congressman Murtha is a decorated Marine Veteran. Savage is insane. NOBODY has yet been proven guilty OR innocent.

Even in the military, you are innocent UNTIL PROVEN guilty. Murtha already convicted these Marines by his statements, even without a fair trial.   "The World's Finest" |

The comments or statement that Murtha made convicted those Marines in the public opinon of many people. I dont know what Marine Corp he served in but it is not the one I had the privalige of being attached to as a Ln Sgt in 1967. Murtha is on the ten most corrupt congresmen list and I think he should me charged and found guilty before a trial that seems what he wanted for those Marines charged. In the heat of battle things happen and no one who was not there should sound off until all facts are presented. Just my opinon from my recliner here in Arkansas.

Murtha was speaking in context that the troops were overextended and overstressed. The issue needed to be exposed. He almost certainly could have chosen better words but the message is still spot on. Weatherguesser is still correct.

Even my Democrat friends are ashamed at the things coming out of the mouth of Murtha. I second what "JimFri" said, I don't know what Marine Corps Murtha served in but it wasn't the one I served proudly for 21 years. The guy is a crook at most and at least, is a disgusting individual who will say anything to pad his own career path.

SOMEBODY DID IT ! Somebody covered it up. Why do you hate Colonel Murtha for saying the atrocity needs to be sorted out and disciplinary action taken ? From all I know of him, I respect Congressman Murtha's opinions and his service record.  |

Somebody is missing the point.
It was a Times Magazine report that Murtha took literally and overextended his mouth. Massacre and murderers were the key words from both. The report originated by a Iraqi lawyer and a Iraqi novice journalist. I imagine that if the events were the bad guys drove off in the car without confrontation the assault from the house(s) would never had occured, so it the fault of the Marines for running over the IED getting themselves killed and wounded. If we had this attitude in the forties we be eating fish heads and wienerschnitzel. Murtha's combat records are in question by friend and foe alike. We will never know for sure, he refuse to disclose his official records. |

You're unfortunately worse than Murtha, you're insinuating the Women and Children deserved to be caught in the Middle and thus shot? Murtha stated he thinks the troops are in an untennable situation and over reacted when that troop was killed from that IED and he used words I wouldn't of but I don't see how he was so off base on what happened afterwards? |

Murtha's statements seem like a partially separate thing. I object to his statements. However, there are something like 24 dead civilians and a lot of people will pay for that.

This is an occupation now. It you are correct then the Marines should not be in Iraq any longer. Two dwellings, 24 people dead, no weapons found. This is honor? |
